If you want to live out your Charlie and the Chocolate Factory desires or Roald Dahl’s childhood candy shop fantasy– then this is the place to do it. An extensive range of candies from the Great land of Britain in cute packaging– it’s hard to pick what you want from everything they have on offer.
Staffed by super friendly people. Must check it out. So many interesting and yummy things. Easy to find, right on Customs and makes a neat treat for yourself or sweet present for someone else.

Lovely shop right across Britomart. I literally cross this shop everyday and finally gave it a try. It is like a different world inside the shop. The smell, the decors and the atmosphere are just amazing. I brought a bunch of candy and they were delicious. Definitely will come here if i feel like some sweet.

I was looking for a place at Auckland to send my good friend sweets on her birthday. At the time, I didn’t have a package to prepare to send to her in time from CA, US. Ordering online from them was easy. I selected their delicious candy, such as Mixed Fudge, Walkers Chocolate Toffee, and Galaxy Caramel Mini Eggs, and made the order to my friend’s address. A few hours later, an associate of London Lolly Shop asked me through E-​mail of my friend’s apartment number because I forgot to include that information. I was lucky they caught my mistake in time.
They also ensured that the package will arrive on her birthday. A few hours before my friend’s birthday, the package arrived in special packaging with the delivery man greeting her of her birthday. Inside the package included a note that I personally requested during the online order. She was so happy, she gave her thanks to me and we counted down the time left until her birthday on Skype. It was good seeing my friend again; it has been ages since I’ve seen her. I really miss her and this act of kindness made her day a lot better.

I’m all for alteration, but shouldn’t this be a Sweets Shop?
Of course I’m being wretched and nit-​picking and, incidentally, creating a seamless transition into talking about how «sweet» this store is (and the answer to why they didn’t call this a Sweet Shop, I guess). Any store that is almost floor to ceiling in jars of candy has to be good for you. Hard-​boiled sweets and sour bonbons and licorice. The fact The London Lolly Shop stocks sweets hard to get in New Zealand and have super-​friendly UK staff is a bonus.
Their location on Custom St means they get a lot of homesick travelers through their doors and a new store in St Luke’s attests to the popularity of this shop.

There’s a trick I like to play whenever I bring bags of lollies home from the London Lolly Shop — I’ll put out a selection of the wares, but never tell the consumers about the super sour hard candies that I’ve snuck into the bowl. Those who have been around know to avoid these little assailants, but anyone new to my trickery ultimately ends up an almighty kick of citric acid and pain. I absolutely adore these sour lollies, but others tend to look like they’re dying as they suck their way through the sour goodness. When I can sneak a good old fashioned «Yorkie — It’s NOT for girls» chocolate bar into the mix, I can get both the sour suckers and the feminists in the room to spit.

Fizzy Giant Strawberries are my favourite sweets in the world; in fact they are one of the things I miss most about the UK being in New Zealand. So you can imagine how excited I was when I came across London Lolly Shop one day while waiting for a bus in the CBD, walked inside and saw my beloved sweets along with hundreds of other British delights covering the walls of the store.
London Lolly Shop literally has every candy you could possibly want from the UK (Wispa Gold’s are also very highly recommended to anyone who has never sampled proper Cadbury’s goodies before) providing chocolate lovers with a haven of delights you can’t buy anywhere else in central Auckland. The store is totally worth the money to get proper British chocolate.

A little warning: if you intend to visit this shop when you have children with you (or the young at heart) I strongly recommend blind-​folding them before they catch sight of the attractive store front, the tempting window display, or (heaven forbid) the rows and rows of glass jars full of teeth-​rottingly scrumptious sweets.
The London Lolly Shop is a little painful on the wallet, but it’s a lovely shop for homesick Brits, those who admire exotic candy, or vegetarians who appreciate clearly labelled food. My stop-​press moment was discovering Irn-​Bru flavoured lollipops… another wee warning, they’re addictively delicious.

Moving to NZ from the UK had its downfalls, the most depressing of which was leaving that wonderful array of sweets behind. So, you can imagine my delight when I came across this little charm!
This shop sells a range of sweets and chocolates from the UK. I almost cried when I saw my beloved Minstrels in there. A great thing about the store is that they let you try before you buy, allowing kiwis to discover what makes British candy so great. A downside is that some of the items are a bit on the pricey side — however the nostalgia more than makes up for this. That sweet, sweet nostalgia.
