Sadly Halfmoon Bay Marina has really mediocre restaurants in such a great location. The Café next door is our last choice resort when it comes to places to get a coffee and something sweet. Seeing as we had a really early breakfast and little/no lunch we thought for an early dinner on a Saturday we could try the Thai place instead. We had the choice of the house on tables as we were one of the first to arrive. plenty of indoor and outdoor tables. The menu was fairly complete for Thai, we opted for a nutty dish and summery light curry. Both meals came out very fast, we had been joined by two other tables of people by the time our dishes came out of the kitchen. Meals smelled fantastic but was sadly a case of smells better than the flavor. Both meals needed more zing. But my biggest gripe was the overcooked and under portioned amount of meat in both dishes. Service was fast but minimal, our waitstaff was not the friendliest but wasn’t cold either. Not rushing back for another round but like I said its par for the very sub-standard course here at HMBM

Marina Thai is a pretty little place in a row of restaurants along the Half Moon Bay waterfront. I usually avoid Thai food as I’ve found it greasy with kind of weird flavours in the past, but this wasn’t my shout, so I couldn’t be fussy! And I’m glad I wasn’t. We got a takeaway that came quickly and was properly cooked, so that when we got it home it was still hot. My friend had red curry duck with fruit(too weird for me, but apparently really good), while I had deep-friend tofu salad with peanut sauce, which I’ll definitely be going back for. I’ll certainly try dining-in next time too, if the brief interaction we had while ordering our takeaway was anything to go by, the service will be polite and welcoming.
