I have been shopping at this Nosh since it opened & until today I had nothing but good things to say. Their prices were better than countdown, just down the road, the meat was competitively priced… Today totally different story. They have within two weeks doubled most of their prices. Especially in the butchery. I was shocked & disgusted. ½ a watermelon for $ 8.45. A leg of lamb for $ 61 dollars. I don’t know about you but for me that was an extreme price. Then there were their special, I’m sorry but who buys 4 punnets of strawberries? What is nosh thinking? Have they lost their minds??? I would be interested to know if anyone else has noticed this change. Then just to add insult to injury we get to the checkout & there is one server, he is dealing with a pretty big load. The flower girl sees us standing there & continues to lean against the flower counter. Looking at us. The guy rings the bell after 3 or 4 mins of us standing there. She looks at this other guy who is working on something? Neither of them moved. I am sorry to say this but what the heck is wrong with people these days??? You’re there to serve, do it. I am extremely disappointed, slightly despondent with the service I got & the prices I saw.

Great gourmet supermarket. They always have great deals on fruit & veg, and the butchery & deli sections are awesome. Always look for the specials & it won’t be much more expensive than a regular supermarket, but really good quality. Lovely little café to grab a coffee too.

Some people go to Nosh for the café part but I actually think it’s not that great. But as a food store it’s awesome. The veges are always super fresh and there is a variety of cured meats, cheeses and delicious breads as well as really high quality fresh meat. They even sell Brezels here! They don’t taste like the«real» ones like you’d get in Germany but they’re still good. You do have to be careful about who makes your coffee though. One girl(or should I say woman, she was in her 30s I’d say) is particularly bad, I always avoid getting my coffees from her. They are pretty good at making you a new one if your coffee is burnt though so I’d suggest you take a sip before you walk out to avoid disappointment.

The original Nosh, I think? A great selection of quality food & drink, with parking on-site. You don’t have to be scared of speciality or upmarket supermarket stores like Nosh. In fact, you can actually incorporate it into your weekly shopping routine, you just have to know how to make it work for you. Yes, if you go in there and buy all of their expensive cuts of meat, hugely marked-up jars of chutneys and jams and then grab a few cheeses for your next dinner party, chances are you’ll be shocked by the final tally. But if you shop smartly, and seasonally, often the prices are lower than what you’d find at your local Countdown or Pak n Save. When avocados are in season you can often find good deals such as 4 for $ 3 when they’re $ 2.49 each at Countdown. Shop smarter!

It would be a solid fiver-star, except that last time I went the coffee wasn’t up to much. And I really, really needed a coffee! Like all Nosh stores though, Dominion Road tempts you in with their lovely fresh fruit and vege aisle, which is all bargains and top quality, and then seduces you into opening your wallet for the pricey, in fact, sometimes incredibly expensive, fanciness that lies beyond. There’s some of the best local deli items, chocolate, sweets, and bakery goods, plus interesting imported speciality ingredients, and to-end cooking equipment. If you love good food and cooking, then this is definitely the place to come. A little warning though — always, always check the price label before you head to the checkout.

A great«gourmet» super market selling good quality veggies at normal supermarket prices and a far more extensive range of meats, cheeses and other condiments etc. Boutique brands of dairy foods, pastas, tinned and bottled things. There are always so many tasters too! Have a free lunch sampling olive oils, French cheeses, dips, olives, sausages, wine… some times cake if you’re lucky. I love the place. The staff are pretty helpful, and if you go to the Nosh on Dominion Road, they have a florist and a kitchen upstairs where they do cooking demos.

Nosh in Mt Eden is definitely most preferred Nosh store, simply because every time I go, I have a good experience. The carpark is quite small, but I have always managed to get a park, whether its there or on the street. They have a large selection of fruit and vegetables, all at reasonable prices. Their deli section is bigger than the Nosh in Greenlane, and always seems to have what I am looking for. Their milk is so cheap, much cheaper than supermarkets, which I respect and value because it shows me that they aren’t aiming to make money, they are aiming to please their customer. The service is always attentive, particularly when I have a mare with their coffee grinding machine, there is always someone there ready to help.
