C1000

I really like this place. c1000s seem rare in Amsterdam, so I’m glad this one is close to my house. Not only are their prices better than Albert Heijn, they have a pretty decent organic food selection, and there’s always some interesting new Italian or Dutch specialty to try here, like sardines wrapped around capers, for example. I even found Hawaiian black salt here for my salt grinder at home, so that’s pretty fancy for a discount grocery store.
My favorite part of the store by far is their American Foods section, which is just on the shelves at the end of an aisle, but it has lots of foods to keep me from getting homesick. They have Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ Sauce, Nerds, Butterfingers, Duncan Hines cake mixes, Pop-​Tarts, and lots of other things that save me from making the trip all the way to the American Store in the middle of town to get my American foods fix. These things aren’t the healthiest things American cuisine has to offer, but you can get brocoli anywhere! AmIright?
