A hidden gem in Amsterdam. It’s a small menu, but done really well. Really fresh and healthy food. Love the hummus and the pita bread is fresh per order. Highly recommend.

If I could give this place 20 stars, I would. My wife and I just ate here and had the best Mediterranean feast we’ve ever had… for 64 euros! The pita bread, falafel, and appetizers were exquisite, and the Halva parfait dessert was to die for. Not to mention the servers were some of the friendliest we’ve ever had. Every Mediterranean place now pales in comparison. Holy cow… come here, it will knock your socks off.

I’ve been in Europe, various cities in Germany and The Netherlands, for 18 days on this trip and this is the best meal I’ve had so far. Everything was stunningly good. I got the hummus with chicken and a «side»(really another main) of falafel; these came with two fluffy pita and an assortment of sides/condiments. I finished the whole feast and it almost brought tears to my eyes, so beautifully plated and so, so delicious. Great value too.

Excellent food. Very tasty at great prices. Worth visit to Amsterdam. If possible, sit so you can watch the kitchen work. It’s like dinner and a show! I had the beef and green tahini sandwich with side of falafel. Top notch flavors. If your in the neighborhood stop by. You won’t be disappointed.

Yum! This place has awesome middle eastern food. The vegetarian choices were awesome. The service is outstanding and the locale is super cool.

The hummus was pretty good and accompaniments healthy and wholesome. I wasn’t bowled over by anything in particular, but that’s expected given it’s typical Mediterranean comfort food. Unfortunately they ran out of pita bread, so we had to settle for pulling apart hamburger buns. The staff were quite accommodating, generous and apologetic. They were helpful in finding us a table despite the restaurant being full. All in all its a good healthy place to eat which won’t disappoint.

The food was delicious and authentic. Delicious pita’s and za’atar. Just like they make it in the Middle East. The menu was simple though. They could do much more. The restaurant itself is cute and there is a nice atmosphere. Waiters are kind and helpful but not very perceptive.

Love it! How can something as simple as hummus taste so good? Simple with just a meat and hummus or just hummus or veggies and hummus. Great for lunch but also a evening out. Worth the trip indeed.

AMAZING. I barely have words for how delicious this meal was. First of all, the décor is absolutely lovely, such a welcoming and comfortable place. The menu is overwhelming so we ended up ordering the sample platter and wow. Unreal. I am a huge fan of hummus and pita and I’ve tried it everywhere, and this was hands down the best, at least in the top 3 I’ve ever had. In the sampling we got a plain hummus(amazing, smooth, creamy and flavorful), small shakshuka(tomato-y and rich), pickled veggie toppings(lemon, beets), arabic salad(very light and fresh), labane(yogurty, tart and delicious), pita(wholewheat and white and INSANE, best ever) and roasted eggplant(soft, tender, slightly sweet, so good). If you go, you MUST order this, it’s the only way to go. I was happily surprised by so many dishes that I never would’ve ordered on my own. I also recommend ordering extra pita, trust me. This is one of those places that I could see myself going back to again and again(and again). Please, please make a point to try this!

Best. Pita. Ever. Honestly when my dining companion dragged me into this restaurant and I noticed a somewhat vegetarian friendly menu I was thinking«all such places suck». To every rule there is always and exception. The hummus was absolutely delicious as were the accompanying pickled things. We had the eggplant version and the namesake vegetables were tasty. We also ordered the falafel and while I admit it still doesn’t beat the very best I’ve ever had it was still a top ranking execution of this classic fried chickpea flour dish. The integration of the nutty crisp beans into the crust was genius. But the highlight of the meal was the pita bread. Fresh made with both a white and whole wheat version it was warm, aromatic and absolutely delicious.

We had dinner here on our last night in Amsterdam and everything was excellent. It’s a bit touristy but the interior is super cute and they really know how to cook! We started with the labane and baba ghanoush which came with the most delicious pita bread I’ve ever had. They also brought out a variety of salads to go with it such as pickled carrots, beetroot, and green salsa. It was all really tasty. For mains I had the hummus with beef and J had something with lamb, beef and eggplant. Both were so delicious. The beef was extremely tender and had the best flavour. The hummus was quite nice and gave me an excuse to eat more of their incredible pita bread. This is a great spot for a casual meal and as a bonus it’s very easy on the wallet.

The best Mediterranean food I have ever had. We had their combo plate, «a little of this and a little of that» and it was AWESOME. Everything is fresh and looks«home made». Different than other places I have been to, with their own twist on things, but excellent all the way!!! Quaint little set-up, good«hipster» setup. Excellent service!!! Nothing to complain about, all good stuff.

There are two kinds of people in the world: those who are into hummus and those who aren’t. As a hummus lover, it was a challenge to find someone to go with. But once I did — this place was everything I dreamed it would be. Delicious, comforting, friendly. Serving massive portions of wine. A million variations on hummus. The only minus I would give is for the interior: I found the chairs quite uncomfortable to sit on, and in general felt like the place was designed to look cool more than to be functional for sitting in. Also, we got three pieces of bread for two people, which is just awkward ;-) Of course I will return! Can’t wait!

I have a new favorite restaurant in Amsterdam :) There isn’t much to be said that hasn’t been said already. In addition to what others have said, I can also recommend the cod as well as the poppyseed cake. Staff are super friendly. The only downside last night was they had the front open and it was a bit chilly — by the end of the night I was frozen. But otherwise only two massive thumbs up. Don’t make the same mistake I did and wait so long to come here.

Wonderful location in a quiet area, yet surrounded by bars and other restaurants. The interior is spacious with plenty of seating for intimate couples as well as larger groups. The service was a bit too slow for my taste, but the staff was really polite and eager to answer all your questions. We went with the ‘A bit of this and a bit of that’ selection, albeit vegetarian. This was not a problem at all. For drinks, I had one of the organic drinks(can’t remember the name, but it was a combination of 2 fruits). The portion size was just about right for 2 people. I was quite hungry so I made sure to wipe the plates clean! The hummus lives up to the name, although I didn’t quite enjoy the egg dish. That’s not a judgment on their preparation, rather that I generally don’t like egg dishes. The dishes came with 3 pita breads, which I though was a bit less for 2 people. All in all, a great spot for an evening meal. I will definitely go back.

On the décor: I immediately fell in love with the décor. It has a rustic feel with simple accents so it’s not so overdone. We’re in the midst of furniture shopping for our new place, and there were about ten things I wanted from that restaurant: the table, chairs, lighting, cabinet, etc. But alas, we were really here for the food. The food: My husband and I ordered: Shakshuka(baked eggs with an herby tomato sauce– for a lack of better words) Hummus with grilled eggplants Baba Ganoush(eggplant) Arabic salad(cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, parsley) The shakshuka and hummus were so spot on, and I would definitely order those two again. My husband lived in Israel a few times in his life and is so picky about restaurant made hummus, which is why I never attempt to make hummus at home, but he really loved Hummus Bistro d&a’s hummus. #win This hummus is creamy and flavorful, and pairs so well with the toasted, soft and chewy whole wheat pita they serve. As for the shakshuka, two eggs are baked in a dish smothered with a mildly spicy and lots of fresh herbs tomato sauce. Again, pairing so well with their pita. Pita is life. I liked how fresh the Arabic salad was. It was a good counter balance to the heavily spiced food like the Shakshuka. I would prefer that the veggies be diced into larger pieces though, not minced so tiny! I’d order it again though. I normally LOVE Baba Ganoush but I didn’t like theirs. Well, I liked the first bite but any thereafter was to much. It was incredibly smokey, and for some reason, I couldn’t help but think about Cracker Barrel. It was just too bitter to eat all the way. I wasted food. I’m sorry. Along with all the other food, this restaurant gives you side salads in cute, petite dishes. There’s a variety of carrots, cabbage, a spicy sauce and preserved lemons. Put that sht everythang. Would I go back to this restaurant? Yes! You can get full on delicious food for 15 euros or less per person. If I went back, I’d order again: the Shakshuka, Hummus & Arabic Salad I would avoid: the Baba Ganoush Tip: This restaurant takes credit but if you have a foreign card, their machine might not accept it meaning you’ll have to walk 4 minutes to the nearest ATM. Bring cash just in case!

I’ll start by saying I am an Israeli, so normally I have an extra support for places owned by israelies and I am always on the search for good israeli food. Search no more! This place is great. First of all it makes me feel like I’m back home. Doesn’t get better then that. Second the food is good. As I am coming from israel, have I had better israeli food? Yes. But this is good and delicious food that makes me feel at home and makes my day just a bit better. Service is good though they did seem a bit stressed and confused. Food is good. Place design is really cute. Definitely a place I’d come back to. Yum yum.

Loveloveloveloveloved this place! I saw this come up in the Unilocal app as a New and Hot! spot recommendation and you know what? It was legit! The little restaurant is laid out beautifully and on the rare gorgeous day, loads of patrons were sitting out front enjoying their meal and sunshine. It was just a shame that I was there solo because I wanted to try everything on the menu! But I only managed to squeeze in their incredible roasted aubergine and a side of pita chips with za’atar. and yes, it was just as amazing as EVERYONE(and Unilocal) promised. Even better, I nabbed the most gorgeous little one-seater(they catered to us on-your-own-but-still-greed-folk yes)! The dishes also came with a small serving of pickles, just to add a little bit of a spicy, sour crunchy kick to the rest of the divine flavours! What can I say? I’m a big fan. and next time I’m coming back with a team! Who’s with me?
