We loved this place. My wife and I have been through Amsterdam 3 times in the last 3 months and this has been our favorite restaurant in Amsterdam. We love a variety of flavors so tapas is one of our favorites. The seafood paella and calamari were delicious. The bacon dates and lamb chop were also wonderful. The only item we werent happy with was a shrimp dish that the waiter steered us away from but my wife needed her shrimp fix (did not satisfy). Service was simple as we have becomed accustomed to here in EU, not many smiles just plain service. The mojito was the best I’ve had in EU.

Oh no. Accidentally sat down here before reading the Unilocal reviews, lured in by their lovely terrace. I get now why it was empty while all the other restaurants at Hugo de Grootplein were full. Not only was I blatantly judged by the staff for (only!) ordering a glass of wine and one 10 Euro plate, but I had to choke down said plate, which was composed of a few horribly uninspired cold cuts and sad cheese with a gutted anchovy depressingly draped across the top of the whole thing. I’ve learned my lesson — ACY (Always Check Unilocal) — learn from my mistake…
Only go here for a drink if the rest of the square is full. The terrace is nice.

I dont wish any ill feelings or harm on Mano A Mano, but I have to agree with the others here. It’s pretty overpriced and extremely mediocre. Eveything from the chorizo to the patatas to the croquettas.
Good service, great terrace, but not enough to come back a second time.

Not great, and overpriced. Everything I ate could have been from the grocery store, and just heated up. The potatoes Brava were clearly frozen potatoes, deep fried with a very bland sauce. Service not good either. Was given a dirty plate, and my server rubbed the crusted food off the plate with his thumb and gave it back to me. Nice enough servers, but I regret spending our money there.
