Powders Laundrette

i put in a 10 euro bill, wash is 5.5 euro. i only get 0.5 euro back in change. the machine took extra 4 euro from me.

Amazing service dropped off bag around 2pm & got back by 4pm for same day service $ 13 euros very cheap & worth it.
Easy location by trams 1,2,5 stops both left & right of street.

After expecting the friendly service, I was more than disappointed.
I arrived hoping to get the full service wash while I could sightsee in the area, but when I arrived, there was no one available. After a ten minute wait, this older man strolled in and rushed me to get out and said that they were closed.
I was very confused as there many loads of laundry still being washed.
After I questioned him why they were closing, he mumbled something, and then said, fine, we’re open.
I told him I wanted to do a full wash service, he just looked at me blankly.
I showed him my laundry, and it was only a small backpacks worth of stuff, not much at all, and he still looked at me blankly and then mumbled something about getting someone else, and rushed out the door again, leaving me confused as to what to do.
My laundry on the counter, money in hand, he just left.
After another ten minutes, I realized he wasn’t coming back, so I just started a load by myself, trying to figure out the machines and how they worked. I finally got my load started and he came in and looked at me blankly again (was I suppose to be there? were they really closed?).
I left for lunch and came back to put my clothes in the dryer. During my transfer time, he helped two people, and was extremely nice to them, spoke perfect English, and helped out. So I wondered, why couldn’t’ he do the same for me? Why was he trying to rush me out?
Why couldn’t he speak English to me? Is my English poor? Did he not understand me? Was my American accent too much?
It’s not too big of a deal that I had to wash my clothes myself, I was just hoping I could do the full service so I would have the afternoon to sight see. Unfortunately, I could only just hang around the area, get lunch, and peoplewatch. Not horrible, but not what I planned.
I don’t get it. Rave reviews here, but it was horrible for me. I’m in Amsterdam often, and definitely will NOT be using this laundrette again. Worst service ever.

What a great find thanks to Unilocal!Our hotel wanted about 300 € (!) to do our laundry, so on our way to the Rijksmuseum we dropped off a big bag of laundry to the very welcoming and helpful staff, who I assume was an owner. He weighed it, told us it was slightly heavier than one load, so instead of 13,50 € it would be 18. After a great day at the museum we picked up our load and it was neatly folded and ready to go. Bravo! What a civilized and effortless way to do laundry on vacation. Bravo! If you have laundry to do and have laundry, don’t waste time doing it, just drop it here.

Easy. Dropped off clothes after 10 days of travel. They were clean and waiting a couple hours later. We explored Amsterdam in the interim.

Very clean establishment, easy to get to, lots of surrounding shops and food places for you to visit while waiting for your clothes to wash/​dry. The attendant was very friendly and helpful. They offer single-​use liquid and powder detergent and liquid fabric softener for 50¢ per load each. They also offer full-​laundry service for 13 € per load, which includes wash, dry and fold, or you can do-​it-​yourself for 5.50 € per load (wash) and about 2 € (dry). Each load takes about 45 min to wash and about 30 – 40 to dry.
It is a very nice and convenient place for travelers to wash their clothes at. I highly recommend it, even considering the price seems a bit steep because the service, cleanliness, and convenient location makes it worth it.

Good prices, well arranged and good hours. We were told by almost everyone that the laundromats were closed on Sunday but what the Dutch mean by that is no-​one is there to help out. As an Australian I was like «laundromats close here?» So I went to check it out. They’re open but yeah not staffed by anyone. Also the machines do shut off but only after 9:15pm (loads take 45min so you can go up until then and they shut off at 10)

Pleasant laundry experience with classical music playing on the speakers. This facility was very clean and helpful with lots of signs to assist. The staff was very friendly. Just 5.50 € for the washer and 0.50 € for 10 minutes in the dryer. Very reasonable! Highly recommend for those needed a quick wash and dry.

Clean place with good machines. There are coffehouses and restaurants close by if you want to leave during your washing/​drying cycle. Washing a load takes about 40 minutes and drying is 30 minutes. The staff answered my questions and were friendly. I will use their facility again next time I’m here. Detergents have fragrance.

This laundromat is amazing. The apartment we stayed in on Wolvenstraat did not have a washing machine, and my husband had only packed 8 pairs of underwear for our 15 day honeymoon. So, we were in a bit of a bind and needed to find somewhere to do laundry. But, we also did not want to spend the whole day doing laundry… so luckily this laundromat offers full service wash! 13 eu will get you 1 load washed, dried, and folded. Or you can pay 5,50eu for one load washed + 50 cents per 10 minutes of drying, I believe, for self-​service. We opted for the full service and was very pleased! Will keep this place on our list should we need to do laundry again when we visit Amsterdam next time!
