The Library

What an excellent venue! Weekly tasting events are featured. These can be beers, wines, spirits and food. It’s a club you buy membership to attend the various events. You can buy membership for the one event you want to attend or choose a month, 6 months or even a year membership. The events are free once you become a member only needing to show your membership card at each event. There is usually one event per week.

Great shop, the owner was kind enough to let us in although we arrived before they were open for the day. Good selection of local, not-​widely-​distributed beers, gins, and other liquors. Unfortunately, I live overseas so can’t partake in the wine clubs or monthly tasting parties. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area.

The Library is probably (til now) one of the best kept secrets in Amsterdam and possibly the Netherlands. These guys know their ish! Massive selection of New World (their focus) wines and obscure (and GREAT) Old World. The one item that makes this place worth a visit… THEY HAVE SO MANY CALIFORNIA WINES BESIDES THAT FRANCIS C!!! That’s what makes California wine so special is that there is so much more than mass produced, and at ALL price points. You must be a wine club member for the tastings (believe me, it pays for itself after 2 wks), otherwise just pop in, grab a bottle and take it to dinner, or sit in the park with friends, or just drink it up at home. Jeff & Frank have taken a hold on the Amsterdam/​NL wine circuit and are not about to give it up! If wine is not your thing (you don’t have to be a connoisseur), they also do Craft beer tastings of local breweries monthly, cocktail nights with boutique craftsmen, and even a sunday brunch! Good company, good wine, Great slice of Napa Valley heaven in the middle of Amsterdam!

What a find! How have there not been more Unilocalers here? Get over there and check this place out.
First of all, wine bar… yes please. Secondly, this place looks great and inviting. There’s even a couch up to hang out on while you sip your wine. Thirdly, these guys know their stuff!
Jeff and Frank are awesome and so welcoming. I was there for 2 hours (it was my first visit!) just tasting wine and talking to them and other members. It’s a friendly community to be part of, but even if you aren’t part of that community, no worries! They are super nice to everyone and seem to enjoy talking about the wine or anything else :)
There are 12 wines available to taste at any time with the fancy wine bar machine that keeps it fresh. They vary from each other greatly. But they have many more wines than that available for purchase.
I went for Ladies night and purchased a «Library Membership Card» which is good for one year. This gets you in to many tastings for FREE… all year. It’s a good deal, trust me.

This is a lovely neighborhood wine shop, specializing mostly in New World wines. They have bottles in a wide range of prices. Plus, they have a great wine club with tastings and events. Definitely stop in to say hi to Jeff and Frank, has a taste, and buy a bottle or two. As a bonus, if you’re a buying a bottle to drink now, they keep a selection in the chiller for you. Enjoy!

Jef and Frank are running this lovely shop, where they sell all sorts of wines, Californian but also from other parts of this grapey world.
They have wine tastings as any great shop should, so we gave it a shot. And let me tell you, the Callaway Chardonnay tasted great! I had a sip of my friend’s red, (yea i forgot which red…) also amazing!
So from the fact that I cannot describe my wines you could tell that I am not a wine connaisseur, couldn’t tell a sauvignon blanc from a chardy, and I had both. But I know what I like and I am liking these wines. Will keep coming back for more!
