Yet another reason Unilocal needs a NEGATIVE start rating!
Usually these little automated parking machines are GREAT because you can pay and you’re in and out in no time and don’t have to wait for a person at a gate, in a long line, while someone searches for loose change between their car seats to pay. This time my experience was NOT so GREAT! ONE SURE WAY to get on my «S*IT LIST» is mess with my money and these people are DEFINITELY on my «S*IT LIST»
I was meeting up with some peeps for a focus group at THE WINE BAR (see review). Being that this place is located in DTLB (Downtown Long Beach) where parking is TREACHEROUS and NOTORIOUSLY known for being HORRIBLE, TIGHT and LIMITED you had a choice between:
— Paying for metered street parking or
— Parking in the Camden apt/​Business structure that would be validated for TWO hours!
I went with the FREE (my favorite «F-​word») VALIDATED TWO HOUR parking of course cause I REALLY HATE having to pay for parking since I’m one of those people that actually pay my taxes and think having to pay for parking, on a public street, in a State where I’m ALREADY paying TAXES is a FRICKIN RIP OFF, a SHAME and a SCANDAL!
So I was sure to watch the time so that I had more than enough time to pay my tab, grab a validated ticket from THE WINE BAR, say my good-​byes, walk to my car, get in my car and drive out the parking structure. Since I had to walk my fur babies I decided to leave even earlier even though I was going to give myself 15 mins. I had ALREADY gotten a VALIDATION TICKET earlier, and the walk wouldn’t take more than 30 seconds and paying my tab took another, let’s say 5 minutes, and I’m being generous so being that I was LEAVING EARLIER at 6:06pm (18:06 for you military peeps) as printed on my receipt from the WINE BAR and I had gotten there at 4:43 (16:43 for you military peeps) as printed on my receipt and ticket from WPS PARKING. I had PLENTY of time to get to my car. Like upwards of 30 plus minutes even if I DAWDLED or DILLYDALLIED or crawled like a baby to my car I STILL HAD ENOUGH TIME!
So I get to my car, drive out, get to the gate, insert the validated ticket, than inserted my original parking ticket and it stats I OWE $ 1.25! WHAT IN THE H*LL! I look at my time in my car and I still have upwards of 27 minutes to go so I SHOULD NOT OWE ANYTHING! I push the «ASSISTANCE» button which DID NOT WORK. So I pushed it again and again and again and again and again and again. To NO AVAIL! So I’m pissed and jump out to go pay at the machine and it doesn’t take cards. FRICKIN-​A! So I run back to my car, which is blocking the exit, to search for loose change so I can put in the machine.
Luckily I find some in my cup holder! I run back to pay and go back to my car look at my clock and I STILL HAVE 15 minutes so AGAIN I SHOULD NOT OWE A FRICKIN PENNY! I try the button YET AGAIN and NOTHING! It was like trying to get a responds from a BRICK WALL and ya’ll know how successful that would be!
I insert the ticket and the gate FINALLY OPENS! Had there NOT been a camera on me I would have rammed through the FRICKIN GATE and said DUCES BE-​OCH-​ES PEACE but I couldn’t! Yes it was only $ 1.25 but it’s the principle of the thing. I made sure I did everything right to be OUT on TIME and WAS OUT on time, but WPS is CHEATING people with their FRICKIN EXIT MACHINES! My receipt has 18:51 on it which is 6:51pm! There is NO FRICKIN WAY it took me 45 FRICKIN MINUTES to walk to my car and drive out and even PAY after it said I OWED! THAT IS TOTAL BULL S*IT!
They are advancing the time in the EXIT MACHINE so people will end up having to F’in PAY! THEY MAKE SURE the «HELP/​ASSISTANCE» button doesn’t work or that NO ONE is there to help you when this S*IT HAPPENS.
