Nestled on a square of high-class, high-priced restaurants geared towards tourists in the Jewish Kazmierez district, Szara was a lovely and tasty meal. The baked goat cheese appetizer offered unexpected combos(beets, pickled onions), but the flavor combination and quality blew us away. For a soup, the creamed Jerusalem Artichoke was spectacular, all subtle and tasty and something I’ve never had outside of Kraków. The plank steak entrée was well prepared, but pretty unexceptional – very much what I could get anywhere at home in the States. With great house wines and a full bar I wanted it to be the most adorable place ever, but unfortunately it’s ambiance left something to be desired — a little too industrial to really capture my attention, especially after some of the other restaurants we peeked into on the square with live music. It was fine food, but how still I’m not sure I would go again if I had it to do over.

Rainy nite in Kraków & they took a reservation from our hotel on short notice even though it was a Sat. night. One appetizer was SOS(3 varieties of herring Swedish style) & the other was salmon carpaccio… both EXCELLENT! Also had the fish soup(huge portion of terrific thick red broth) & an excellent order of grilled halibut w tasty grilled vegetables! All were great as was the sorbet dessert.

Good times, good food, lovely area and fully tasty flavours… Michelin 2014!!! Just worth to mention that there was no walk in Kazimierz without hearty dinner in this so beautifully charming place… And with so beautiful music… and obviously close to all major Kazimierz attractions…

A delightful and tasty place. The service is professional and the food is represented by fine examples of traditional regional dishes. In addition, there are salads and other lighter fare not found on many Polish menus. We started with a subtle lemon soup and a nice mozzarella salad. We followed them with the weiner schnitzel and a large green salad with shrimp and smoked salmon. While we did not try it, the couscous at a neighboring table looked yummy so a couple of days later we went to the«original» location on the Square in the Old City. The menu is slightly different and the prices a little higher in some cases but the same excellent food and good service. The couscous was excellent(curried and charred vegetables) and the herring and slamon tartare were booth knoockouts.
