What an amazing place! I have never seen a «real» castle in my life, and it was a treat that Ksiaz was my first. My experience started with a trip to the Palm House, down the road a bit, and that was a treat. Make sure to see the 100 year old palms, and on display now is a large assortment of Bonsai trees — one which was 180 years old. SIMPLYAMAZING. After that, my friend and I walked toward the castle, and checked out the scenic overlook. In the US a scenic overlook is not always so scenic, so I didn’t get my hopes up. I was amazed when the castle came into view across the embankment. WOW! Simply stunning. The castle itself is amazing. We took the self-guided tour. We wanted to go at our own pace. And my Polish language skills being what they are, my friend and I though it would be better if we could take my time and enjoy the castle on our own. I don’t know if they offer guided tours in English or not. The only problem with this was that we couldn’t go down into the tunnels or up the tower without a guide. But, I didn’t feel like I missed out on much because the place is amazing just by itself. The contrast in architecture, the opulence, the magnificence of the gardens… it was really amazing! Make sure to check out the stables too — this was a little more of a relaxing excursion, as there were not nearly as many people. I enjoyed the slower pace of strolling through and looking at the horses. The 30zl. ticket was well worth what I saw(Palm house, Castle, and Stables). For an American traveler, it was quite inexpensive for what you are able to experience! If you’re in Lower Silesia, Ksiaz is a must see! I’m so glad I had the opportunity.
