Pleasantly surprised by this upscale authentic Japanese eatery above Pueblo Grocery store! I needed a convenient lunch after a haircut and this was my only option. Service was attentive and friendly. Note their sweet potato soup of the day was fantastic! I would return. PS I would enjoy more tempura options with their Bento boxes…

Great restaurant! Tuna Avocado Salad is the BEST! And I’m not a salad guy! Menu is pricey though!

Ripoff city. Seriously. Tiny portions and huge prices. The atmosphere is pretty ghetto too, think key to the locked restroom down the hall. Plus there was a huge flatscreen right at eye level ruining our dining ambiance. I won’t be back.

This had to be the worst place I’ve ever been to!!! For three rolls we spent 90 $$!! The rolls only came with about 4 –6 rolls! I waited 2 hours for them to bring me my food and not to mention an hour to bring me my seaweed salad! The location is very akwaed it built on top of a shopping market, and the resteraunt its self is very tiny, loud! The customer service was not there at all! The sushi tasted good, but defenitly not worth the price and not worth the wait! Puerto Rico has many amazing places to go eat! DONOTWASTEYOURTIMEORMONEYHERE!!!

We are not fans of sushi, so we ordered the Shrimp Tempura, Ponzu Fried Tofu and Chicken Teriyaki and tea for two. We were served 6 shrimp with a nearly invisible coating of tempura batter, one tasteless 4×4 inch slab of tofu sliced diagonally, hard whole chicken tenders(way too large for chopsticks) that were drowned in soy sauce and two teapots each with a bag of Foojoy Chinese Jasmine Green Tea(charged $ 5.90 for each tea). The total bill was $ 60. The ambience was not Japanese… «Ikebana» is Japanese flower arrangement and no flowers were seen in the restaurant. The overhead music was samba and the muted television was tuned to the local Spanish Univision channel. Perhaps others may report that the sushi is good, but having enjoyed authentic Japanese cuisine here in California, we were disappointed with the poor value and poor experience here.

Buen sabor, buenos tragos. Pobre ambientación y lo peor el cocinero que prepara o moldea el arroz y el pescado crudo no usa guantes de látex.
Don't a.

The sushi is OK and the prices are outrageous, no cucumber for California roll? How can you be out of one of the most common ingredients

Ikebana is a great sushi place with a high sushi price. That is the pro and cons of the place.

This is a good example of a great place going bad because of poor administration. For many years this was one of the best places on the island to eat real sushi. In fact, they even had a real Japanese chef at one point and he was excellent. Now, we’ve visited both locations on three occasions within the last couple of weeks. Yes, we wanted to give the benefit of the doubt because it used to be such a great place. The results: TOTALDISAPPOINTMENT. The quality of the fish it is definitely not what it used to be. I order sashimi in all three of our visit and it was not fresh and tender as it supposed to be and of substandard quality. In fact, borderline dangerous to eat. The service is marginal. They also have the practice of automatically adding the 15% service charge to the bill without asking. So, when you get your credit card bill, if you do not pay attention you will end up adding a tip over to total charge. To make matters worse, we were charged for a third glass of wine we did not order. This is what our order was: 1 yellow tail sashimi, two crab sashimi, one California Roll and two glasses of wine each: $ 89.00!!! Sorry guys, you are now a write off on Malengo’s book. Very sad story for a place that used to be one of our favorite.

Great staff! Sushi is ok. Edible. Priced right. small and tight, so get there early on a friday. Sushi chefs are super nice, work fast. I have to say, the«OLE» roll was a pleasant surprise.

like most sushi places, ikebana’s take out is not quite as awesome as their dining-in.(the tuna chips are particularly un-amenable to take out.) however, being able to watch mad men in the comfort of your home while simultaneously eating gourmet sushi is pretty rad.

I’m a sushi lover and this one is my favorite spot in Puerto Rico! Enough said. The Ivan, Mexican and Ikebana rolls are a must. And if you like martinis, you MUST have the kiwi martini(so tastyy).

Ikebana is my favorite sushi in puerto rico. I’ve tried multiple places and this sushi bar has the freshest fish of all. They have a limited sake selection but good enough for the average saki drinker. They are a little more expensive than other sushi places. The ambiance is very nice. Good for a date, meeting, or just good sushi!

This place is great! I loved the ambiance, and being already a fan of their sushi(they have Carolina and Guaynabo locations), I knew their food would bet great. A little hidden away, being on top of a supermarket, but hey, I guess it is close to touristy Isla Verde. Check out their San Patricio Plaza, Guaynabo location and Plaza Escorial, in Rio Piedras/Carolina.

Woohoo I have found my first 5 star sushi place… unfortunately it is not in Chi town. My first bite of their food was of the mango tuna tartar and it blew me away… somewhere between spicy, fruity and exotic… I couldn’t believe what I was tasting. Then came the rolls… The Betsy, The Ivan, The Mexican… all different and all heavenly. In the end was the dessert… the floating island of wild and exotic fruits mixed with some mysterious sauce. I would have eaten here daily if it wasn’t for the outrageous prices…18 bucks for a roll… holy sh*t…but to find my first 5 star sushi place, it was well worth it. The ambiance was cool, the staff was very attentive and I cannot rave enough about the quality of the fish. I will miss this place dearly.
