This Marshall’s is very similar to Marshall’s elsewhere in the U.S. I was hoping there might be something more unique about this location in Old San Juan, but nothing particularly distinguished this one, except maybe the bilingual signs. The first floor is women’s and juniors clothing. The second floor has the men’s and home sections. I did notice this store had a much larger selection of underwear and lingerie than other Marshall’s I’ve visited. Prices are identical to other stores and very similar selection. I popped in looking for some extra shorts like ones I have had home and was delighted to find them at the same price as in MA. There is sales tax on clothes in PR, however. 6 percent tax for the commonwealth and one percent for the municipality.

We went there yesterday to find a swim suit for me while vacationing in San Juan. The store was clean, organized n easy to shop. There were plenty of cashiers too! We enjoyed our visit there.

Who would have thunk that I’ll be going to a Marshalls in San Juan? We were walking in the old city and I remembered that I needed some conditioner for my ratty hair. Yes, I called it ratty. After swimming in the ocean for 3 straight days, my hair needed some therapy. It was out of control and felt like coconut fiber. Not pretty when I am trying to flirt with all the Ricky Martin look-a-likes in San Juan. A guy’s gotta have pretty hair to pick up other guys. So, in my quest for a conditioner to treat my abused hair, I found Marshalls. It was the only department store in that area where I could find a decent selection of hair products. The store looked like a hurricane ran through it. Stuff was all over, on the floor, everywhere. It was highly disorganized. I found a Nioxin brand conditioner for«unruly hair»(that is what it said on the bottle). I immediately picked it up considering the state of my hair and walked to the counter. It took me 10 minutes to check out even though there was only one person in front of me. The lady in front of me took 10 minutes to count her coins to pay for her slippers. There was only one person at the check out counters. My experience proves that Marshalls is a mess regardless of the location.
