I have to start by saying. It was great and definitely a most repeat. Gran Melia Resort is beautiful, but having Passion Restaurant is just the icing on a cake. Service was very kind and courteous. The dinning area was beautiful. Based on all the above… price is just fare. Want something cheaper go to Mcdonalds !

Beautiful restaurant at the Gran Melia resort by Chef Myrta. We had dinner reservations and came with a large group, and the staff was so welcoming and served us with ease. Everything on the menu looked amazing! + Surf & Turf — This was fantastic! The skirt steak was perfectly cooked and a true medium rare. The garlic shrimp was also fantastic — buttery, snappy, and savory. The sauce was so addicting and went well with rice & beans. + Chicken Mofongo — When in Puerto Rico! You have to try a mofongo. It’s made with plantains and you can choose your choice of meat or seafood. We tried the chicken and it was a little on the dry side. I’m not sure if Mofongos are my thing. I gave it a couple tries at different Puerto Rican restaurants and wasn’t a fan, but I will say that this one was outstanding compared to the rest. + Grilled Mahi — This was very delicately cooked and the garlic cream sauce was delicious. We loved how saucy it was! The fish was also very fresh and didn’t taste fishy at all. The restaurant is beautiful and very romantic. I love the dim lights and the beautiful décor. They also had a good wine menu which we indulged in. While it’s a little on the pricey side, it was well worth the quality and flavor. Great ambiance and service to boot!

I’ve been eating here for five years I ate there last night and the service was awful Not once did the waitress fill my glass of water And after we order she brought the appetizer and never came back to the table The appetizer were not good at all and when I told the waitress she said sorry Finally after getting up to ask for my bill, I notice the two appetizer were still on bill So I went over and talked to the so called manager, and the waitress came over and said «It was made to perfection and its your problem you didn’t like it. You need to pay for it .» I eat out five nights a week, and could not believe what came out of her mouth So I paid for the appetizer that we never ate, and will never go back to this Resteraunt. Shame on them

We went there on a last minute idea. It was located on the Gran Melia resort. It is like a Puerto Rican Fusion restaurant. Food was good. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. Service is a little slow

Beyond amazing, large plate sizes, we could have licked our plates clean! Hubby had steak mofongo, I had the seafood paella. Both wonderful. Kids raved about the chicken in garlic cream sauce.

The service was awful-no one came to our table for 20 minutes. My husband finally stood up, walked to the water station, and poured our water himself(another waiter saw him and still didn’t get the hint). After many attempts to flag someone down, a couple across the room caught the eye of the hostess and sent her our way. She ended up being our waitress for the remainder of the evening. The only saving grace was the food which was delicious! We ordered the crab chowder for an appetizer, the chicken mofongo for dinner, and 2 desserts. Apps and desserts ranged from $ 6-$ 10 and entrees were $ 15-$ 40 with lobster and other seafood a bit more.

Incredible Puerto Rican food on a resort that otherwise had meager restaurant options. I had the whole fried red snapper and it was absolutely delicious. My friends also enjoyed their meals.

Do not come here this is terrible !! I came here while I was staying at the vacation club. The service was so bad so was the food. I order arroz con pollo with beans and the food was cold and with no beans! To make it worse the chef came to the table not only did not fix the issue but made it worse! Nobody gave us an apology and The waiter was completely indifferent to the issue also. I am puertorican and this is too expensive and please do not come here it is a nightmare!

While the food was above average, the price, small portions, and horrendous service seriously detracted from the experience.

Did not start off well. We were seated at a tiny table next to the window which overlooked the mechanics of an empty stream and fountain. The next room seemed nicer so we asked to be moved there. We were told no. I asked three different times before they complied. I was told it was due to the fact that they seated by server section-as if they couldn’t have the same server help us in the other room. They only had like 5 tables of people in the entire place. Once we were moved things looked up. Janita, our waitress was great. She gave us suggestions and was very bubbly. We ordered the Snapper stuffed with conch and lobster Mofongo. Very rich but good. Going back before we leave but splitting a meal this time so we can try some dessert! Highly recommend!

Got to the hotel late Friday night and was starving. Took the first reservation at 8:30p. Service was a little lacking, but once we flagged down a waitress, she was great & attentive. Me and my BF tried the corn sticks, chicken mofongo(garlic cream sauce), and skirt steak. Corn sticks and skirt steak were amazing, but the cream sauce on the mofongo was a bit generic and overpowering. Would still come back and try something else off the menu.

Very rude host at the entry. Poor service followed when we weren’t interested in the waiter’s recommendations for the high ticket items on the menu. Table«cleared» in a noisy and disrespectful fashion when we ordered just fish and a house salad, which is what we wanted. Fish was good; salad was marginal. We will not go back again! Suggest you don’t bother!!!

The service was great. Unfortunately that’s the only good thing I can say. The lobster in the mofongo tasted like it had been microwaved. The halibut was like rubber. The crab bisque was barely room-temperature. Everything was under-seasoned. Similar to other restaurants at Melia, it was completely underwhelming and overpriced.

My friend and I were able to walk in and get seated immediately. However, despite ordering our food quickly, we had to call our waitress over, literally, and demand her to check on the order after a grueling hour of waiting. People who had come in twenty minutes after us finished their meals before we even saw ours. The food and ambience was good though, which earns it two stars. I recommend the Chicken Medallions. Otherwise, make sure the waiter/waitress actually gets your order in. Sat down: 7:23 Got food: 8:32 Left: 8:45

If you like spicy food and you don’t eat ham this place is not for you. Their rice and bean have ham in it. when I asked rice without ham, answer was ‘we do not serve rice without ham’. We request for spicy food. it was still bland. The only thing we like was the tres leche cake

Last night, we drove a bit to get to Pasion for what was hoped to be a great dinner. And we were not disappointed! Four stars for the food. Plus one star for the stellar ambiance. This restaurant is one of several located within the huge and beautiful Gran Melia Resort. We had eight people, but were still seated within five minutes without a reservation. The waitress arrived promptly and took our drink orders… then she recognized my nephew. It turns out that my nephew’s grandmother is a chef here! So we ended up getting a VIP discount on our meal! Bonus! I ordered a regular Sangria and water to drink with my meal. The Sangria serving was large and delicious, but I didn’t detect a lot of alcohol. It was very good otherwise. For dinner, I ordered the Churrasco steak with a side of veggies. When my meal was delivered, it was hot and it looked delicious(photos included). I tasted the veggies first. They were served in a butter and onion sauce that was really delicious. The veggies were steamed, but not overly cooked so they were crunchy still. They were basically perfect. Then I took a bite of my steak. As I cut through it with the knife, I could feel that is was soft and tender throughout. My first bite was awesome! In fact, the entire steak was awesome. The only thing I would change is I would add a slight char to the outside of the steak. My meal was just very, very tasty and I loved it. Everyone else in my party ordered Mofongo of varying flavors or chicken strips and fries. Everyone expressed that their meals were delicious. Okay, so the food is great. Now, for the atmosphere! The location within the Gran Melia resort is just FREAKINGDREAMY at night! It’s one of those places that you go to once and dream about for the rest of your life with pools, candles, marble floors, fresh flowers everywhere, water everywhere, fountains, lots and lots of private beds with curtains, and breeze blowing just right, etc. It’s located next door to a Trump Golf Course and Resort. But Gran Melian’s atmosphere actually seemed a lot nicer than the Trump resort! Anyway, with the warm night air flowing through the restaurant and the AMAZING ambiance, this was one of the nicest meals I’ve ever eaten. I can’t wait to stay at the Gran Melian for a few days! Recommend!
