Very dark, massively over priced steak house. The décor is a little too dark but nicely arranged and pleasant. The staff and service was very good. The food is mediocre and insanely expensive. The selection of appetizers is bland and unappealing. We ordered the Barrumundi fish and tenderloin steak. The fish and steak were both quite good but the sauces and surroundings terrible. We ended up eating(and enjoying) both with just a little salt and pepper on a side plate. For this price… the entire dish should have been much better. We also enjoyed a few glasses of the winestash 2013 red blend, which was very nice… but at 18USD per GLASS it damn well better be. Water was 10USD. We don’t mind paying occasionally paying premium price for a nice dinner out… but restaurants should understand that expectations are as high as the price. not worth it… by a long shot.

We went there after reading good reviews and looking at the pics(should have checked menu on the website better). My boyfriend wanted some good burger American style, but menu that we got consisted mainly of steaks, some snacks from all over the world cuisines, some more fried meat(not steak), 1 salad(!) and 2 types of fish. So we were rather disappointed to say the least as we didn’t want any steaks and there was hardly anything else to choose. I ordered foie gras and a cocktail(showed it to the waitress in the menu), my bf got a salad and some wine. Results: 640 hkd for foie gras mixed with chicken liver and 4 tiny toasts(thanks to complimentary bread I managed to finish my food), a cocktail with such a huge ice cube that there was hardly anything to drink(besides, when we got the bill, I found out it was not even the one I ordered), nice little salad, very good wine and a bottle of still water that we thought was complimentary as well(we assumed it after our waitress said — let me bring you some water, guys. Do you want still or with gas?). I must admit that service was nice and fast and, except for the mistake with the cocktail, we have no complaints. This place didn’t meet our expectations at all but, may be, if you go for a nice steak, it can be a good choice.

Ordered the Tuna Tartare as an app, it was tasty and had an interesting texture. I ordered the Filet, it was cooked perfectly and the sauce was very good. My friend had the T-bone, I had a piece it was delicious. Hard core Beef Fans will love this place as they feature unique cuts and novelty meats from speciality farms & slaughter houses. Average wine selection. It is more expensive than noted on Unilocal.I’d give it $$$$. My bill was 2500HKG($ 325USD). Just an OK location, actually more of a local neighborhood. Hailing a taxi after dinner took too long on a Thurs night. Date of visit was December 102015.

Spacious wooden décor, good food, but service could be better Located on the second floor is a large wooden restaurant with lots of high topped chairs that sort of reminded me of a modern take on a medieval banquet hall sort of look. Or perhaps that’s just my imagination. As the name suggests, the food revolves around meat. It’s a little pricy but I quite enjoyed the wagyu and other steaks, although I couldn’t tell which was which. The plates also come with a self-serve salad buffet, which I actually very much enjoyed despite not often eating salad. The plates were quite well laid out and were a pleasure to behold. Unfortunately the service was quite slow. They apologised for the wait, and we asked for the french fries to come out first while we waited(it’d been just under an hour since we’d ordered) the french fries were no where to be seen for 15 minutes. Our food eventually came out, including the french fries. Then more french fries came out too. It seems planning and organisation is not one of their strong suits.

Sunday Brunch review only! If you’re looking for bottomless drink refills, American-sized portions with the price to match, you’ve come to the right place. Food: there is a buffet station serving raw tuna, raw oysters, and salad, which also has a waffle station and a pâté station. There should be no reason that anyone leaves this place hungry. For the main course, I got the Blue Butcher Burger, which was phenomenal! Service: although responsive, they can be a bit slow to bring drinks over; perhaps it’s strategic to ensure that nobody drinks too much — the stairs are steep! Décor: very interesting way of ensuring people know it’s «Blue Butcher» — painting butcher knives with blue blood coming down on the walls by the stairway is quite creative!

So my girlfriend was craving steaks because we had been eating loads of seafood, street food, dim sum and noodles. My nephew brought us here for dinner saying they have good drinks and good meat. Well, he wasn’t kidding. It’s like being back in the States… the portion sizes were huge not like the sizes we have come to expect from the locals. Price wise it was big too, a pricey dinner but a good dinner. I had the filet mignon and paired it with the black pepper sauce. The meat was done right but the sauce was too weak for my taste. The fries were good and the whiskey was a good pairing.

Great lunch set. As much as I try not to, I have 1 – 2 plates of the fresh salad items before my meal comes. It prevents me from ever taking advantage of the bottomless fries, but that’s probably for the better. I still think this could be the top burger in HK(so juicy!), but don’t frequent enough to compare accurately with my other favorites. Guess I’ll have to keep trying :)

Great steak with a cool vibe. The music was great but the tables are packed in a little close together, so I felt like we were eating with the couple next to us. One of the best steaks I’ve had in Hk but you do pay for it.

This review is for Brunch. I highly recommend Blue Butcher for brunch. They have what is called a Semi-buffet, which means your starters are AYCE, you pick an entrée and dessert from the menu. Those are not AYCE but no worries, the starters they offer are totally ENOUGH to satisfy your taste buds and tummy! The AYCE menu includes(as I remember it): — Shrimp cocktail — raw oysters — Beef salad — Watermelon salad — Smoked salmon salad — buffalo /mozzarella — Raw Tuna — Cook-to-order belgian waffle — Cook-to-order foie gras! After all the starters, you are most guaranteed to be too full to eat your entrée! They have a good selection of entrée to choose from, but I have to deduct 1 star out of the review because most of the entrees require you to pay more, ranging in some cases $ 90 – 160 more(on top of the brunch price). I think there are only 2 choices(poached eggs and french toast) that are included in the brunch price. For $ 390($ 50USD) paid for the brunch, I find it hard to justify spending more to complete the meal. It’s not that the poached eggs and fresh toast aren’t enough — it’s more of the principle. That aside, everything is delicious here, and I love the vibe. Live music on Sundays. It’s a great hang-out place.

Even as an over-proportioned American, I can’t speak to the portions, but only the flavor. It’s rare I go to a resturant twice and are wowed both times. After 10 years I may be guilty of home(food) sickness, but I travel enough and eat enough western food to put this place on par with anyplace anywhere. Admittedly I’ve only eaten the smaller plates, but each time have been so. tempted to re-order the same dish. Most memorable recent experiences include the cucumber/beet salad and in contrast(only from a health perspective) the to-di(n)e for melt-in-your mouth pork sliders. Service is friendly and the only basis for the one star short of five is the apparent encouragement to allow HK bankers smoke large cigars in close quarters and completely ruin the fresh air indoor-outdoor bar area as they try to «compensate» in a Freudian sense.

If you’re looking for American-sized portions, you’ve found the right place! Steaks tend to be smaller sized at most steak joints around HK but Blue Butcher will give you your money’s worth. Yes, it’s a bit steep but totally worth it! The food can take a bit of time to come out so order yourself one of their tasty cocktails. They are crafted pretty well, much better than other spots that claim to be «cocktail lounges.» I recommend going with their Fig & Cheese if you’re a whiskey drinker! We started off with their mac ‘n cheese plate, which comes topped with with a perfectly cooked egg, with the egg yolk still runny(so lovely when you smother the yolk all over the dish). This will get your taste buds worked up while they are cooking up your meat dishes. After seeing a few other tables ordering their deliciously looking steak dishes, we just had to get a couple plates ourselves. The Wagyu and Sirloin cuts are aged in-house and cooked to perfection! The meat almost melts in your mouth when you take that first bite. The meat is full of savory goodness and so damn tender. Since we already had two steaks, we decided to go try their Kurobuta pork chop as well! You can get pork chops anywhere but Kurobuta is considered the«kobe beef» of the pork world. It is cooked perfectly, with the meat just oozing with flavor and juiciness! Trust me, this dish is a must have! Don’t bring up that«I don’t eat pork» bull-crap here. You’ll truly give you taste buds an experience once you take that first bite. Be sure to save room for sweets. They’ve got a pretty good selection of desserts but the portions are quite big that we were able to share it between the three of us. Or you can just have another lovely cocktail to help digest and alleviate your food coma. Indulge yourself!

This is a MAN cave. Kind of a cool little, hip, neighborhood off the beaten path. A plethora of eye candy wandering past. Cold draft beers on the first floor. Up the dark stairs and bam — you’ve entered the MAN cave. Long wooden tables with unmatched bar stools. Dudes hanging with their bros, chowing some serious beef, washing down with eclectic cocktails. It’s SOHO in the heart of HK. Very cool neigh-bro-hood vibe. So the cocktails. Not chick drinks. Fig and cheese thing that hits you between the eyes. Yeah, there’s a foamy cheese on top. Awesome. Bone marrow apps on fresh bread toast. Buttery goodness. Foie gras moose with chopped chicken livers. OMFG. You can’t get this heaven in California. The steaks are perfection. Tenderloin was like eating cake it was so soft and perfecto seared. Some sort of mushroom butter sauce on the side. Horseradish mustard. It doesn’t get much better. A la carte sides to round it out of frites and charred brussel sprouts. A truly unique HK experience. Great steaks and drinks in an eclectic atmosphere.

Food here is great. Front of the house is unorganized and trying to forced to upsell drinks. Send main course while starter is not even finished. Girl bringing you to the table while on the phone! T bone was one of the best steaks I ever tasted perfect seasoned cuisson just right and very tender. Sour dough bread is very nice. Their garlic butter and presentation of mustards is very cool. IPA bears not cheap but tastefull. Will come back
