Traditional cantonese congee, noodles, rice dumplings and more. Perfect for supper. Very clean restaurant and friendly service. Better than many local diners. Would definitely come back. Wan Chai branch is the original store. Michelin Guide recommended.

My favorite congee in the Wanchai area! Yes it’s a bit more expensive than other congee places, but I honestly think it’s worth it. They don’t open till 11am. There’s one morning I was craving their food so bad that I waited outside for 5 minutes before they actually opened and I was the first customer, haha, which almost never happened to me. A few people walked in after me just a few minutes later. This place is definitely welcomed by the locals. Well, cos the food is really good! They advertised how they use real fish soup as the base of their congee, which is true. I tried the fish belly, fish swim bladder(yes, it exists as food) and the«boat congee» which is a mixed ingredient congee including pig’s skin, roasted peanuts, lettuce and minced pork. I grew up eating this and I love it! The congee here was very well seasoned and smooth. They served it piping hot so be careful! Not only the fish-based congee was their signature dish, their fresh fish skin was on the list too. I’ve always loved it but not many places make it well. This is definitely one of the best places to get it. The skin,(probably from tench fish, which is a freshwater to brackish water fish found mainly in Asia and western Europe) was crunchy, fresh, chilled, and it’s served with fresh green onions, roasted peanuts and soy sauce. Surprisingly, my sister ordered a random item from the menu, some beef dish with sauce, and it was very good! It was tender and juicy with the right amount of flavors. How strange that a fish congee specialty store did a good job cooking beef… Impressed! The restaurant was kept clean and the AC was strong so don’t worry about coming here on hot summer days. The ladies(mostly) working there were very efficient and friendly enough. Love the food!

The congee is a very traditional style with a fish-base. Quite good, though I personally prefer other styles but this was very well done.

enjoyed fish congee, best to have a smooth, hot, hearty, with the right amount of salt, ginger, onion. could use a little more fish.
