Desperstely needed a book for my flight back to the States. This place has a rather broad selection and is reasonable. It is also very close to an MTR station. The lower level is all Chinese and the upper level is all English. The lower level is worth a check even if you can’t read Chinese just for fun.

I’m a little ashamed to admit that I have only properly discovered this place today… me that I pride myself on knowing every good bookstore. However, it was a happy moment. Somehow I had missed the ‘English books’ sign at the entrance and only saw the ‘Chinese’ one… so I came in and was sooo happy to see that it’s actually a whole floor of English books on pretty much every subject you can imagine. As I walked through it I couldn’t stop to check out the books until I got to the end of the shop and scanned it completely. At the end of it there’s a big space for stationary and there’s even a section for magazines alone, on different topics: sports and leisure, cars, lifestyle, etc. I then came back to the main aisle where most of the literature is and checked it out again: they have different sections: biography, philosophy,(a lot of books on) business, history,(a ton of books and resources on) languages, travel guides, etc. As you come into the shop you’ll see a shelf of ‘new arrivals’ and a desk with ‘bestsellers’ in front of it. And on the right there’s a miscellanea of books. This is only for the English section; in the basement they have another floor with Chinese ones. Shame that it took me so long to find out about it but now that I know it, it’s quickly become my favorite bookstore and I’ll be there more than once just to have a look, it’s so much fun to browse around book shelves!
