It’s hard to miss this place coming out of the airport. It’s in a great, open location. I had their hand pulled noodles and you can see the chef pulling them in the kitchen; the consistency is excellent, the strands never ending. When you just get off the plane and need a nice hot bowl of comforting noodles or dumplings, this hits the spot.

Decent xiao long bao and noodle soups here with quick service. Miles and miles ahead of airport food in the US. Only knock would be that the xiao long bao were kinda lukewarm, but it was still alright after the long flight from New York to Hong Kong.

Great food, favorite Chinese food place in HK, the service is ok, don’t expect everything to arrive at the same time, dishes come when ready. Not too expensive, and good quality food

I loved the beef la mien with red chili oil so much that I’m going to fly through Hong Kong on purpose next time just to eat there. Gotta remember to bring a box of kleenex with me though, because I almost drowned in my own snot and tears. Spicy!

The Dan Dan noodle used to be my favorite in HK with thick and heavy peanutty taste. Now the portion is smaller, and I could hardly taste the peanutty flavor in the noodle.

Overrated. Come here often for lunch and the food can be very inconsistent, It’s either a hit or a miss. But if your in the mood for noodles or Shanghai style food upon arrival into HK or staying in one of the hotels nearby. It worth giving a try. Would suggest trying one of the noodles soups with a cold appetizer and a dim sum. Friendly service and the menu is also in English for non Chinese readers

We were on our way out of the HKG Airport(in the arrivals area), when my husband spotted this restaurant and decided he needed to eat before we head into the city. Crystal Jade is popular in Hong Kong(there’s only 1 location in San Francisco, California) so good thing we got to sit down and check this place out! Everyone had their suitcase with them, so we were instructed by the wait staff to just leave it by the hostess counter while we grabbed a table and sat down to order. We ordered: (1) La Mian(hot & spicy) — my husband wanted to try their spicy noodles, and ordered a big bowl. He devoured the whole thing(aside from giving me a small tasting); said it was pretty flavorful, but not out of this world great (2) Xiao Long Bao — soup pork dumplings were tasty! I have to say that they almost taste better than Din Tai Fung in California. Skin was thin and each dumpling was filled with lots of soup. We had to order 2 orders of these, since each one only came with four dumplings. They were good! :) (3) Pan-fried shrimp & pork dumplings — these were delicious, plump and filled with flavorful meat. Dip it in some soy sauce or vinegar and you’re set! Our order came out fast, lots of customers, and it’s so popular here that 3 of their 5 congee dishes were SOLDOUT already! Boo! :(I really wanted to have their congee, but didn’t get to have any here unfortunately. Our flight had landed around 8:10 am in the morning, and by that time — the congee had already sold out. Insane right?!!

God this place lacks customer service and their food ain’t that great. I asked to buy takeaway after a long flight with the bubs and was told that it would take 15 – 20 mins. Unfortunately it WAS peak hour in HK so I was happy to wait but was told to come back. I assumed that they would yell out my order so at around 15 min mark I hung around but the waitress did not acknowledge me at all. At the 25 min mark I finally asked and she grabbed a plastic bag beside her which has been sitting there for ages cos everything was lukewarm by the time it got to me. The Shanghaiese fried noodles was admittedly still nice. The noodles were nice and chewy and there was a lot of pork and veggies in it. The chicken and ham fried rice on the other hand was terrible. First of all they only filled up half a box, secondly we could not find any chicken in it. Thirdly, it had so much MSG both hubby and I were thirsty for the whole night. Urghhhh

I wanted a small snack before a red eye flight and the airport Crystal Jade is perfect. They are super busy here though and cramped. But it is sooo much better than the food inside and besides when am I going to have good xlb again! Again I had that and a bowl of dan dan noodles. Xiao long bao was juicy and noodle texture was right. They still manage to get it to you right after cooking without it sitting around. I was seated at the little bar in the corner. They don’t hurry you even though they are super busy. Wonderful at the airport.

I was in Hong Kong last week and while strolling on the IFC mall decided to try this spot, crowded with large families of locals(good sign). The food was tasty, and portions were very big! Definitely worth trying as it’s very conveniently located and yummy!

Hey, everyone, if you ever arrived in HKG, you should stop by here to get some soup and XLB before your long fast pace journey ahead. They conveniently keep the carts for you while you eat there. The XLB is great, skin not too thin, not timid and not too tough. Trust me, you will need that hot broth to calm your senses down.

Crystal Jade has never failed me. Everything I’ve ever tried has been really good. I think their xiao long baos are on par with Ding Tai Fung. Their skin is just thick enough and there is plenty of soup inside. Their appetizers such as shredded chicken with noodles and peanut sauce, drunken chicken, and potstickers are all good choices. Of their veggies, we really like the soy beans with tofu and mince meat with string beans. Of their stir fried noodle dishes, I’ve tried the traditional Shanghai style thick noodles and Shanghai style sticky rice cake. Both are very flavorful and not too oily. I also enjoy that they put a lot of ingredients in their noodles. They don’t skimp on it. Lastly, I thought their noodle soup was just ok. Nothing special. If you’re looking for solid Shanghai food, and don’t mind paying a little bit more, I would definitely recommend Crystal Jade.

It is not fair. I came here to eat xiaolongbao. I got the noodles just because I wanted something to fill my stomach with(I’m not going to stuff myself with xiaolongbao). They are ok. Not horrible like those yellow Hong Kong noodles but not really tasting like they are handmade(though I can see the chefs making them by hand in the kitchen). When the xiaolongbao came out I ate one. The soup inside was hot! The other 3 I ate all had skins that broke. That isn’t the way it is supposed to be. The skin is supposed to be paperthin, but the top thicker so you can grab it via chopsticks and hold it that way. And yet I loved it! Each and every xiaolongbao. They got one of the most basic things wrong, the thickness of the skin. Yet I still liked it. I liked the chewiness of the skin. I liked the fact the soup was hot. So hot I held my mouth in pause mode, not willing to open or close it, but not so hot I had to spit out the soup. I liked the consistency of the filling. It wasn’t mushy nor finely ground like a standard dumpling, but I could taste the chunkiness of the meat. Over the past 2 days I have tried a few of the top rated xiaolongbao places in Hong Kong. Paradise was the first. They have multicolored xiaolongbao, each a different flavor, with some as diverse as foie gras. But the soup inside wasn’t hot. Yesterday I had Osama Tony’s, a little place in Mongkok. It isn’t a chain. The soup was hot, but it wasn’t anything particularly special. Today though, at this chain restaurant, inside the airport, I had the most wonderful xiaolongbao I’ve had in over a year. It isn’t right. They only have one flavor of xiaolongbao. They don’t even know how to make the skin properly. And yet I loved it.

Everybody spoke English and made it very comfortable to order. Very fast service and the food was pretty good. I love that they had translations to other currencies right on the bill and accepted payment in USD.

One of the many restaurant options at HK International Airport. There was a short wait when we got to the hostess stand – probably about 5 minutes tops. But the place was super busy and all the tables are close together so the space is pretty cramped. Despite the wait(and the line as much longer when we were done eating) no one hurried us out to turn the table. It was hard to check out as we had many servers and I couldn’t flag someone down to pay the bill. Ive never had Xia Long Bao so I have nothing to compare it to, but I did really like the XLB I had here. Served piping hot it’s hard NOT to burn your tongue on the flavorful soup inside the dumpling because they are so pretty you just want to dig in and eat right away! My son and I loved the shrimp springrolls and we also had an order of pork/shrimp dumplings that were also pretty flavorful too. Take a pass on the steamed pork buns – they were mushy and didn’t have much flavor at all. I eyed all the soups people were having and I wish I was in the mood for soup because they all seemed to be slurping away happily.

I only been here once and I waited nearly two hours for a seat! I suggest if you want to go here, please plan accordingly. During lunch this place gets packed and you will need to queue. When I am in IFC I see the line as long as a hallway. The xiaolong bao is good. I wouldn’t say it’s the best xiaolong bao, but it tastes alright. Order as much as you can because if you want to order a second batch it will take LONGER and LONGER. All they want to do is have the table turned to someone else. I suggest order as much as you can because you wont be given the second chance to eat in peace. They will slap the bill on your table and expect you to pay. Tip: Be warn about the long lines. Remember to have someone queue up for you!

I’ve had better. Not bad for airport food. The rice porridge is tasty, and shaolin bun is alright.

typically my first or last meal at HKG. looking forward to the one opening in SF. perfect XLB, noodle soups, and regular dishes as well, fast, easy to leave luggage nearby. different tasting from DTF but still excellent flavor, juice, wrapper — more porky also like the chicken dishes new menu look, thus slightly higher prices? turnip pastry not fried enough

I was my first meal after landing in Hong Kong after a long vocation in Europe and the food I craved the most of course was Chinese food and I was really glad that Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao was just around the corner. I have also loved Xiao Long Bao because of the thin wrapping and the hot steaming broth inside, just the thought of it made my mouth watery already. As this is located inside the airport, the restaurant is sort of small and kind of fast-food like. However, I suppose travelers come and go here so normally they do not have time to really sit and enjoy but rather looking for a quick meal. With that, I ordered beef noodles and of course my favorite xiao long bau. The food did not take long to be done, maybe around 10 to 15 minutes, the first thing I put in my mouth of course was the Shanghainese dumplings. They were pretty much like the one they serve in Ding Tai Fung so I was really pleased. For those who did not try that dumpling before, make sure you lift the dumpling carefully(time to challenge your chopsticks skills) and dip a bit of sauce without breaking. Then bite a small piece so that you can let the steam come out; and drink the soup out before eating it unless you may risk burning your tongue. As for the beef noodles, unfortunately the broth was too oily for me or maybe the dumplings were too filling; I could not finish the entire bowl. The beef was all right but compared to Xiao Long Bau. The latter definitely was much better than the noodles. Regardless I am still very glad that they have one of its branch here at the airport as it gives travelers all around the world the taste of Chinese cuisine the minute they land.
