Terrific spot. Best pub quiz in town! The food is really good, but it’s the excellent trivia hosts and competitive regular teams that kept me coming back. A Hong Kong institution.

We have reserved the 2^nd floor for the department Xmas party. The place is totally private and serve up to around 40 pax. Food is so so, nth to Unilocal about. Great location for department event aa there are lots of bars downstairs for a follow up drinks for those who are interested…

It’s an Irish Pub in an Asian town, OK?
I cant put a finger on what the attraction to going to an Irish or English bar is, when you’re immersed in a completely different culture all together.
Familiarity perhaps.
They have Pints of numbers, (Kroenenberg) they have Asahi too.
Western food like a Beef burger. Pork ribs. Pies. Bangers and Mash.
It is, like most western/​Irish/​English pubs in HK, a Rugby pub. There is memorabilia adorning the walls, as well as Irish pub themed stuff. There is invariably a Rugby game playing on one of the tellys.
They do table service, and you pay the tab at the end of your visit. It wasnt the cheapest for a lunch stop, and the Pints were not the cheapest either, but it does have air con, and makes for a good rest stop if you’ve just trapsed all over town on foot.

If there is one thing that the Irish do really well, that is pubs, and Delaney’s in Wan Chai, is no exception. Set across two floors; the bottom floor being the pub, and the second floor being the restaurant, it serves a range of beers, wines, and spirits, as well as some good and hearty Irish food.
The beers, wines, and spirits, are pretty much what you would expect, but the food is a real treat. This is Irish food, which is not to be mistaken with British food. Yes there are lots of potatoes, pies, meats, and fish, but all of these dishes have a distinctive Irish twist. My particular favourites are the Irish lamb stew, and the sausage and champ. Wash all of this down with a pint of black, and I’m happy as Larry (or Paddy in this case).
There are also specials which rotate often, so look out for these on the chalkboard, and a daily carvery, which usually features two or three roasts and all the trimmings. The carvery is served as a meal with a soup or salad buffet starter and a soft drink. At not much over HKD100, it’s a meaty bargain! One last note about the food (it’s making me hungry) the ultimate fry up is very good — a perfect cure for the night before.
Personally, I prefer to sit in the upstairs restaurant. Strangely, the downstairs is a bit too much like a pub back home for me. Both upstairs and downstairs have TV screens playing sports, and they will feature the big games of the moment, but the upstairs is generally a bit quieter and more civilised. The upstairs does get booked for private functions, so you’re not always guaranteed a spot up there.
Insider tip. the gents toilet in the bar is tiny and a bit manking. If you need to go, head out the back into the office building and take the elevator to the 3^rd floor public restroom, much nicer!!!
