There are several of these stores located around Hong Kong. They are bright colored, gadgety merchandise and reasonable prices. From clocks, to rice cookers, to fans, to stuff for your work desk, to ear phones, to table top speakers… this is the kind of gadgety stuff they sell. Cool for you, cool as a gift, just a cool little store. Nothing exceptional, but a cool little gadgety store.

Doma is a ‘lifestyle shop’ full of cool stuff. It’s one of those shops where I can’t stop looking around, trying things(wondering what they are sometimes!) and behaving like a kid. They have electronic devices, gifts and gadgets disguised as toys and funny figures. In fact some of my favorite items are the mushroom vacuum cleaner and the mini pepper rice cooker. Their USB sticks are also very creative and I love the design of their Bluetooth headphones, especially their foldable ones. A friend who was visiting wanted to buy a few presents for her family and friends in London. We had planned to go to Ladies Market one evening but the thought of the crowds, the heat, the bargaining… was putting us off and we kept on procrastinating on this task. One random evening we happened to be around Central and as we had arrived too early to the area for an appointment, we strolled around looking at windows until we saw Doma. I already knew this shop and the one in Stanley, where I remember having some childish fun with a group of friends while we tried some devices. She got the mini plant(walking), a mini figure of a walking man that you need to water once a day for the grass to grow on top on his head and a kitchen mat in bright green. The girls at the shop were really helpful; my friend initially thought of getting the air freshener and wasn’t sure whether she could take it in her hand luggage which they quickly checked for her. Doma is the perfect place for original and fairly priced gifts and it’s a Hong Kong based brand. Now I’m not sure about the quality of their electronic devices, as I would normally go for renowned brands and pay some extra but their design and creativity is undeniable and at 350HKD I may actually get their pink Bluetooth headphones…
