There should be two reviews for this place: one for the night club and the other for the dim sum buffet at lunch. This review is just on the dim sum lunch. It is all-you-can-eat during weekday lunch dim sum. There are 27 choices. We tried most of them and the quality is good, on par with some of the best dim sum restaurants in HK. The place was full, so need to book ahead.

By day a restaurant, by night a famous night club. We can for their dim sum lunch so no booze this time! They offer an all you can eat for hkd$ 228 per person. Based on the variety of choices and as long as you are hungry, this is well worth it. The food itself is excellent. I would rate it 4 stars for that. They lose a star for the service. We placed several orders through the course of the meal as friends came late and then we wanted some more dishes. At least 6 dishes we asked for never showed up. We did reorder but some still never showed. When the bill came they had put us on the all you can eat price for our table of 6, but in fact as 3 had not been very hungry that didn’t make sense. We had to get them to adjust the bill to a la Carte and also remove items we had ordered and that didn’t show. That was the disappointing part of the experience. The place wasn’t even overly busy so not sure what happened. Their Xiao Long bao was excellent although not so soupy. The chicken feet was tasty and not too oily. Dim sum can be a bit heavy and greasy and this wasn’t. A good place to go, especially if you are bringing visitors.

I’ll be pretty brief here. If you have more money than you know what to do with, and you get some kind of carnal pleasure from spending US$ 17 on a beer, then come here. Or better yet, go to a cheaper, better place, and mail me some money. Having lived in LA and NYC for most of my life, I understand the whole industry that comes from overpaying for nightlife in order to get into the hot«scenes» of the city, but there wasn’t even a whole lot going on here. Save the money and just stay down around LKF. Disclaimer: I only came here for drinks. Can’t speak to the food. Drinks: 3⁄5 Value: 1⁄5 Service: 4⁄5 Atmosphere: 4⁄5

The food was excellent, mostly japanese cuisine, light, tasty and perfect in the Hong Kong heat particularly prior to the nightclub starting up. I’d highly rate the dinner part of the evening, service was top notch and the atmosphere excellent. We booked dinner here as part of the nightclub table-package, and that’s where things went a little downhill. Dinner wrapped up close to midnight, the tables are ushered away and the floor is set up for the nightclub. It was very awkward to start with, with just about everyone heading outside for drinks and cigarettes. Eventually after 1am the nightclub finally started to heat up. Once again, it was awkward — the venue is highly targeted to the ‘elite’(i.e the fashion industry), and unless you are a part of it(we were in Hong Kong travelling) it’s quite difficult to really enjoy yourself. This place really does border on the line of super-pretentious.

When i studied abroad in HK, this was the super exclusive place to go for rich people, models, or if you had the money, to see someone perform. Oh yah, and you had to have connections to get in. So, obviously, hearing that, my friends and i had to get in. So one night, one of our friends got us the connections and we got in and… i was disappointed. Everyone in there seemed so old and the men seemed so sleezy. It was definitely filled with rich old men willing to pay for GIGANTIC bottles of alcohol to the likes which I have never seen before in my life. The inside is separated into two areas: the bar area and the table area where the dj plays. For somewhere that touts themselves as an exclusive club, this place is pretty crowded, or maybe the place was just small. My friends and I ended up staying here for maybe an hour and bounced because it just wasn’t our scene. Overall, I’d say it’s worth a try if you’ve never been, but otherwise, I’d skip.

Great music but cocky staff who want to rip you by up selling their bottle service. We had to negotiate to get a good deal but that got us a table in the bar area rather than the central area. Mixers aren’t included in the price of the Bottle. If you don’t want bottles, guys pay 200 hkd in cover and girls are free. We were HK for 2 nights so we heard we had to go here. It was still fun and the dj was pretty good too.

I’ve been to Dragon-i twice, at lunch time and at a party at night. I’ve got nothing remarkable to note about the nightlife atmosphere at Dragon-I, but for the purpose of an accurate review, I will say that it can be fun if you are willing to spend a lot of money. It exceeds on its VIP vibe and lacks in taste and good music. However, their all-you-can-eat dim sum is an experience to go for. In all fairness, it may be argued that it’s not as authentic as other traditional dim sum establishments, but definitely good. Priced at 188HKD plus service charge, you may still find it a bit expensive(there’s just so much dim sum you can eat in a go!!!). On the day we visited Dragon-I there weren’t many customers around for lunch, surprisingly. The service was great and the dishes came in at just the right pace; we ordered as we went along. Every single one of them was good, from the dumplings to the jelly fish… we all agreed on that. For me, the only critic would be the actual space, too dark, too club-like for a lunch. Even though we were sitting by the window, I would have enjoyed my meal, had I seen the food in natural light. But, I still think they’re doing a great job by turning it into a dining space as well as a night club. If you haven’t tried their dim sum lunch yet, I recommend you do. But once is fine. There are other ‘less cool’ but rather legendary places in Hong Kong, where locals would go. If you haven’t been there at night and you are the kind of person who enjoys a drink for the sake of it, don’t worry too much, shouldn’t be on your to-do list.

When I was in my late teens, Dragon-I was THE place to go out and I probably would have done just about anything to get in. However, these days, I cringe when someone suggests a night out at this club… it’s my number one way to destroy my self esteem as the venue does anything and everything to encourage a steady stream of models who serve as eye candy for slimy businessmen. However, some of the DJs they bring in are notable and although these events are generally seriously overcrowded, if you’re into music, it’s worth a visit. Owner Gilbert’s famous birthday parties are also worth a visit — he does lavish like no other and you can expect plenty of the club’s signature sparklers that are served with every purchase of a champagne bottle. Yeah… so it’s a little obnoxious but it certainly sends the message that you are there to party. Whilst I rarely visit for the nightlife, the lunch time dimsum offer is still relatively high on my list. For $ 188 you can tuck into as much dimsum as you like. It’s ordered a la carte so is freshly prepared and delicious. My favourite are the crispy vegetable rice rolls — so good! If you have out of town visitors unaccustomed to Cantonese cuisines(and service) this is a great intro to dimsum and the setting is extremely chic.

Being one of the most renowned and exclusive clubs in Hong Kong, Dragon-I is the place you don’t want to miss.
Located on Wyndham Street, Dragon-I has a high-end and posh vibe, which is exactly what I’m looking for. Some of my male friends don’t really like Dragon-I since the bouncers collect cover charge almost every time and sometimes give them a hard time. For me, I don’t mind paying as long as I will have a good night. Dragon-I has amazing DJ and good ambiance. What’s not to love? Unlike other clubs, Dragon-I doesn’t have an actual dance floor, there’re a lot of tables around the DJ area though. So, if you fancy a crazy night with a group of friends, getting a table is probably the best option, not so friendly to your wallet though. Dragon-I is perfect for after party, go around 2am to join the crowd and have a good night! Have you ever thought of going out on a Monday night? Honestly, gong out on a Monday doesn’t sound that appealing to me but Dragon-I has«Models Monday» FYI. So, if you are out on a Monday night and have absolutely no idea where to go, Dragon-I is definitely your best option, or more like the only option in the hood. Where else can you party on a Monday night? I genuinely have no idea… Now, you know where to find me on a Saturday night.
