Hakka Inn

After wondering around for a local place to try in Tai Wai, we settle on this place because it looked like it was the most popular and they had baskets of dim sum on display.
I was a little bit bummed that they were out of some of the things that we wanted, such as the steamed rices, but in all fairness, we went a little bit later in the day. Besides their siu mai, nothing in particular stood out. Don’t get me wrong though, everything was really fresh and good, but it just wasn’t 5 star worthy. The siu mai stood out to me because of their size. They were really big siu mai. And they were good.
If you happen to be in the Tai Wai area and in need of dim sum, definitely come check this place out.

Went to Tai Wai and stopped in as it seemed to have a nice local vibe. You just pick the things you want and place your order.
Food — all our picks were good!
–The shrimp and pork dumplings were both really good. Large pieces of shrimp and good texture.
–Radish cake
–Chicken feet
–Custard bun — very hot and good flavor. custard was still runny, which was very nice
–BBQ pork bun
–Fried pastry with pork inside
–Shanghai dumpling — wasn’t as juicy inside as I hoped, but the skin didn’t break

For about 7 dim sum dishes: $ 55 each for 3 people

Quick! We also stayed around chatting for awhile and they didn’t rush us and were very nice.
