Holiday Inn Golden Mile Hong Kong

Stayed here for the week with the whole family. For the price of the room, it’s decent. Good size room and bed for Hong Kong.
Staff was not very friendly. We had 2 little kids and they definitely did not like children. The rooms were outdated and a little dirty. The pool has no shade so you can’t stay up there for too long.
Located to MTR station and lots of restaurants, bay, downtown, etc…

We usually stay at the metropolitan hotel but we decided to switch it up and book some rooms at the holiday inn and we’re glad we did! Great accommodations: free wifi, large beds, great room service, they bring you fresh fruit and chocolate your first day and the location is central to everything you could want. They even give a cell phone to every room with free wifi and free calls to other Hong Kong numbers. That was a huge bonus and helped us out a lot! On our next trip to Hong Kong we’ll definitely be booking our hotel here!

Holiday Inn Golden Mile has been in the same spot forever. And they remain competetive by consistently rennovating the interior. The bedding, furniture, bathroom and amenities are all right there. Room is good sized. Just the carpeting looks not so clean but probably is. Comfy & quiet the top priority. Countless restaurants and shopping within the block!
The restaurants are ok but there are lots of choices outside. Their lunch and dinner buffets are very good for quality and value. I eat a light breakfast and miss their German deli which was closed not long ago. Their Hari bar/​lounge is the local pick up spot beginning at happy hour. At checkin they sometimes give you freeby or discount coupons at their bars or restaurants when you pay by signing to the room.
Good bell service. Efficient check in/​out. Simply fantastic location with mtr at the door. Very busy place.

I had a recent stay here towards the end of January 2015. I was definitely shocked by the appearance of the hotel itself. If you compare it to nearby places, it’s a bit dumpy.
The first night out of four, we were assigned to a room on the 9^th floor which smelled of old bathroom urine and the sink would not drain. Simply dumpy.
Since my aunt was the one who booked this location for my husband and I, my husband didn’t want to say anything mean. I had to straight out ask him if the bathroom smelled like a urinal. After he quietly answered yes, I went downstairs to request a room change asap.
The lady at the counter was the same one I checked in with. Our initial priority was a room with a view. After relaying my concerns to her, my priority was a room which did not smell of old urine with a sink that worked. She apologized for the inconvenience and bad first experience and quickly reassigned a seventh floor room. There was no view (starred straight into the home owners living room from our level) but I did not care. The room was clean, smelled fresh and the sink worked.
That night I spoke to my aunt on the phone and told her how dumpy this hotel has gotten since our last stay (when I was real young and barely recall). She felt real bad and told me the reason why a lot of people book there is due to their location. Right next to the tsiam sha tsui MTR location. It did not seem like a justified reason to stay there until we had to go to Disneyland, ocean park and Hong Kong island the next few days. It was honestly so convenient to be that close to the MTR exit station. A few steps and you were back at the hotel.
Due to my flight being later than check out time and my husband and I still wanted to explore the place, the hotel offered late check out at 2pm and held our luggage until we were ready to leave (awesome). This prevented us from having to lug our six pieces of luggage around all day.
Customer service here is top notch and the location is definitely prime to getting around on the MTR. However, I wouldn’t mind if they gave this place a facelift.

Stayed here during my Hong Kong trip in 2014 and it was a pleasant surprise. The hotel was quite clean and spacious compared to other hotels nearby that I’ve stayed at during my previous trips. They provide you with power adapters and complementary water bottles which was useful especially if you plan to roam around the city. Side note, they also provide currency exchange for guests at much better rates than street and airport exchanges. Reason for my 3 star is because the rooms did have an odd odor when I first entered the room but was gone after the first hour or so and because the TV would not work with 4 of the 5 remotes we had to switch out. Location wise Bieber l however, it is right across the street from k11 shopping plaza and conveniently located near a 711 and the MTR.

We stayed here when we visited Hong Kong in 2006. Photographs help jog my memory, but since I didn’t take any of the hotel during the trip, I don’t remember much. The one thing I do remember vividly is that our room had a disappointing view of a really old, ugly, and creepy building across the street, so we left our curtains closed for the majority of our stay. Looking at Google Maps, it looks like the building could be Chung King Mansions, but I’m not entirely sure.
The benefits of staying here are the location — it’s in the heart of Kowloon’s bustling Tsim Sha Tsui district — and it’s walking distance to many attractions and landmarks such as the Avenue of the Stars, Star Ferry, Peninsula Hong Kong, Kowloon Pier, Peak Tower, and Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower.
