it’s slightly better than other Ippudos in Hong Kong but not spectacular. The Hong Kong Ippudo chain, despite its insistence that it’s connected to the New York location, is not even in the same league, so lower your expectations accordingly to avoid disappointment. that said, the ramen($ 68 – 92) is decent, though broth can be too salty at times. The fresh garlic cloves, sesame seeds & spicy bean sprouts on the tables are a nice touch. Besides the ramen, I would give everything else a pass. The Silvercord(TST) menu offers a spicy salmon /salmon roe donburi($ 88), which was basically a small salmon chirashi rice bowl drowned in Marie Rose dressing(not an ounce of spice, despite its name). The batter of the shrimp tempura($ 78) is more raw than cooked. The pork buns, one of Ippudo’s more popular small bites, are just depressing. if you’re stuck with something not so appetizing, you can always drown your foodie sorrows with beer. Beers are 2-for-1 every day after 3pm, even on weekends & public holidays. Two bottles of Suntory works out to $ 38 with this promo. Service is mediocre at best & makes me wish tipping was optional. Always check your order because there are often mistakes with the order & you could be waiting a while for something that was never put into the system. I’m used to HK servers cleaning up relatively quickly, but servers reaching over you while you’re still eating, without so much as a word, is just rude. In line with the food & service, the restaurant is never full and I’ve never had to queue for a seat, which is definitely an upside in an area like TST.

If you love the NYC location, like I do, you will enjoy this location. I generally go for an early dinner, before 6pm, so I have yet to experience a wait time. The menu is extensive and carries items not found in NYC like the«Bomb» Scottish Egg and frozen Kirin beers. Their menu provides a variety of snacks, fired rice and yakitori, in addition to their star ramen choices. The dining area is very clean, kid friendly, and not noisy. The staff was cordial and the atmosphere was very relaxed, unlike the NYC location. You also will be greeted in Japanese by the staff as you enter and exit. The pork belly buns were unfortunately underwhelming with two thin pork belly pieces and not enough mayo and lettuce. I was so saddened by it, since I love the buns from NYC. What I did really enjoy was the«Bomb» Scottish Egg. It’s a bit strange that this is on their menu, but the soft boiled egg wrapped in juicy sausage meat, coated in bread crumbs and deep-fried was seriously the bomb! All beers are 2 for 1(of the same beer) after 3pm. I would recommend that you order lots of appetizers and yakitori skewers, along with beers, as a great way to unwind with friends and family.

An excruciatingly long wait prevents me from going to NYC’s Ippudo often, which is why I was thrilled to find a branch in Hong Kong! Thankfully, there were no crowds. HK is notoriously«trendy» — since Ippudo isn’t new anymore, it was reasonably easy to get a table on Saturday at noon. Loved the half-portion ramen(noodles and flavor were perfect) and the green salad — whose dressing I enjoyed to the last drop.

I needed a new afternoon pick me up from a long day of shopping. We were next door at DFS as Hubs was searching for the perfect wallet. My brother highly recommended Ippudo as we just came back from a great mini vacay in Tokyo. We ended up eating an early dinner instead. They have just the right amount of selection of ramen. I still love love my tonkatsu base and am starting to be more fond of the hakata style(thin noodles). The soup was very flavorful and it wasn’t like you had a mouthful of MSG with every bite. The noodles were perfect. Although we suspect they’re dried noodles. But, it didn’t stop me from shoving it all down. Jwy, isn’t most pasta dried? We ordered a bunch of apps from fried chicken(salt and pepper skin, piping hot and crispy) to paper thin wrapper on egg rolls(shrimp with bittermelon… it’s good), sampler platter, squid(calamari)… They were sold out of the gyoza. Boo! Daughter had a Calpico with a lychee popscicle. Yummmm! We got there early before the rush. It was nice especially before going into the chaos on Canton Rd during rush hour. Definitely be back.

I come here every time I am in HK and it still is a place that brings me satisfaction every time the«Kuro» Black Ramen is what sets this place apart. The blend of garlic, tonkotsu broth and black pepper notes envelop your taste buds in a way unlike any other Ramen has done before. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the already succulent meat soaks in the broths flavor creating a truly memorable dining experience. A perfect pairing with their house tea. Overall the staff is kind, even to foreigners and will go out of their way cater to even the fussiest of eaters.

Good quality ramen, very tasty and very consistent. I don’t think the gyoza is great but the ramen more than makes up for it

Nice place nice food offered. Soup is great, ramen is acceptable. But the Underbelly Ramen in San Diego is still the best. Haha.

I love Ramen, they do a very decent job as good as the ramen houses in Osaka. Generally no wait if you don’t mind sharing the counter sitting. Prices is moderate but the product is very consistent.

Came here for lunch. No wait. Quick friendly service. I’ve been to the one in New York and Japan and have to say this one is closer in style to the New York one. So it’s semi authentic. The ramen is pretty good. I like the flavors of the soup base. Not too salty and not too bland. Make sure to try the fresh smashed garlic. Not the best I’ve ever had but it does satisfy the craving without the hassle of waiting.

Back again for another round of delicious ramen. Had the seasonal ramen which is the miso akamaru. It is a miso based broth with minced pork topped with spicy sauce accompanied with the thick yellow noodles. The spicy noodles was perfect on this chilly winter day. Don’t forget about adding the fresh garlic that is available for mincing and the 2 cold dishes to snack on while you wait Also had the corn kaarage which was fried corn fritters that came with a sesame mayo sauce for dipping. Good stuff here and would definitely be back for more.

I went to ippudo in Japan and regularly go to the one in New York. I have to say that this one is my least favorite. They do have quite a selection of items on the menu which are different from the one in Japan and New York. Ippudo Japan has the least items on the menu, but that one is my favorite. The one in New York has the pork buns that is very good. Therefore I can only compare the ramen and the broth. I find the noodle consistency to be very similar to the one in New York. The one in Japan let’s you select the level of firmness for the noodles. The broth is good, and less salty than the one from New York. They have a garlic smasher on the table with raw garlic that you can add to your broth. I’m not impressed with this place, but it does satisfy any ramen cravings.

this Ippudo has a lot more selections than the NYC ippudo. The deep fried egg — it’s quite oily. there is bacon wrapped outside the egg with fried dough. I think it’s not that good. The cha shiu bun roasted –i prefer the one with steamed bun instead. the flavor is not enough either. Black garlic black fungus ramen — this one is very flavorful and very good. I highly recommend it. one of the best ramens i’ve ever tried. The service is quite good and not a lot of people waiting.

This chain from Japan even have a branch in New York, though I’ve never been. Dependably fast, friendly and efficient service here. Their ramen is excellent, as you would expect, the tonkotsu broth is delicious and the ramen the perfect al-dante-ness. They do offer items beyond their ramen, appetizers, rice, etc, and they update their menu every few months, so it’s always something new for my visit. The last time we visited we tried the matsuri rice and it was surprisingly good too. Oishii!

2.5 stars What happened to your porkbuns??? OK this is a ramen place, but seriously, your 2nd most popular dish should be the pork buns. Please see your NYC branch and copy them asap. Instead of awesomely tender pork belly, TST/HK gives a thin slice of un-marinated, bland, dry, lame piece of pork. Had the tsukemen and the broth and noodles were good. The meat was again a disappointment and didn’t receive any soup base with my broth.
