Let’s face it, when summer comes, the only way to be a real man is to burn a side of cow on your own BBQ. Whether it be gas — for the more delicate gentleman, or charcoal — for the true survivalist (Tai Hang can be a bit like the wilds for sure), you will probably find all of your BBQ needs satisfied in one place — Jervis Bay Barbecue World, on the 12^th floor of Horizon Plaza in Ap Lei Chau.
This is a veritable megastore of all things BBQ. From the massive gas powered Discovery 1100 Outdoor Kitchen Series, which is basically an industrial kitchen in your garden, through to the mini Cobb charcoal BBQ ovens, which are small but so elegantly formed, and everything in between, you will probably find something here to suit your needs.
These «man» pits aren’t cheap, but they are the best quality imported BBQs from Australia and beyond. And whilst you are not guaranteed to be able to produce award winning grilled meats, you will probably impress you mates.
As well as the BBQs themselves, Jervis Bay also sells a huge range of accessories, both for cooking; griddle irons, cooking cutlery sets, charcoal and fire lighters, hotplates, and for the garden; mozzie candles, candle holders, torches (the fire ones as oppose to flashlight ones).
The staff are a bit stiff, and not hugely helpful, but if you are happy to take your time to wander around, and have a smart phone, you can probably work out what you need. The BBQs are well labelled with information, and Google can provide the rest.
One thing I do like is the pebble glazed flooring. It’s really nice to take your shoes off and walk on this stuff, but perhaps that why the staff don’t like me — haha! If anyone knows where to get this from, call me!
