Buildings in Hong Kong, well, I can’t say they are totally uniform, but they sure looking alike; and due to the high density and limited land, there is simply no room for architectures to have style, not to mention to push boundaries and be innovative.
Better known as V core to poly U people, this Innovation Center would most certainly be a landmark of the new generation. Judging from the appearance, it is more like a space craft landed at the center of a busy business district. The architect especially designed it to be extremely streamline, so streamline that I once thought the building is molten and melting. The style in design is not limited to the surface, the interior is as stylistic as the exterior. Serves as studios for the design school of poly U mainly, the interior design of the building is chic and sophisticated; a term that is so last century yet suits the place perfectly well is «cyber». Tones like white and silver go together just give such impressions: high tech, modern and yes the word i am doubtful to use «cyber».
Other than the studios, classrooms and offices, the ground floor is also an exhibition hall showcasing the latest design and innovations which is totally worthy of touring around. So basically it is a complex serving multiple purposes; effective use of space rarely go as far as this~
