Been there for lunch, had fish and chips and a flat white. The fish and chips was tasty. The way they fried the fish is a bit different from most western fish and chips, which is somewhat similar to the way spring rolls are fried, thin and crispy. I like how they serve lemon, two sauces(ketchup and BBQ) and vinegar with the dish. I like the lemon and BBQ sauce, while the ketchup was a bit mediocre. The flat white was smooth and nutty. As a coffee lover, the meal ended well with this good coffee. Waited quite a long time for the fish and chips. Nevertheless, service was great and very friendly staff.

Coffee is expensive, and the seating is cramped, but totally worth it. Someone who knows much more about coffee than you will spend 5 – 10 minutes grinding, measuring, weighing, and pouring you your cup of coffee sourced from any number of beans you pick. I normally drink decaf but would be embarrassed to order that here. Great experience…

Went there after seeing the review here at Unilocal.Disappointed at the door! Greeted by very unprofessional staff. Crowed and messy inside. Some may call it cozy, but it is not comfy and hardly relaxing. Now if you could bear to go on in such an environment to try out the pretentious menu, there you have to walk yourself to the counter and make an order the Starbuck style! At that point, I had no choice but left. So I can’t comment on the food. The only thing was that the whole experience was disappointing. Especially very put off by the unhelpful and unfriendly staff who seem to dislike the customers!

What a shame that this is only my first time here. Being quite used to sticking within the HK island, it’s a special trip to Mongkok during Easter to try out the coffee recommended by my colleague. With the direct relationship made with the S. America farmer, the source of the coffee beans was actually tracible, and therefore the quality and standard of the coffee could be strictly controlled and maintained. When I closed my eyes and thought about this, a Hongkie venturing to South America… there must be a lot of hand shaking and business talks with the local farmers, coffee bean hunting and site visits… there must be a lot of hardwork long before this latte was created… So before I sip the coffee, I already wanted to give a salute to Knockbox. And by reading from the blackboard hangin on the wall, there a different themed coffee classes on Monday to Thursday, and a coffee tasting /get-together on every Friday. This little shop is not only a coffee shop, but here are a lot of throughts and enthusiasm in it. And in fact, the coffee is the best that I’ve tried recently.(I just know afterwards that the shop roasts the coffee beans themselves, and all the beans are only stored for less than a month to ensure freshness, how nice!)

Visited this place for brunch during my HK December 2014 trip. I was recommended by my cousin about this specialty coffee shop. This is one of the specialty coffee shop in HK that also cater food items, which makes it a great spot for brunch. We had the Gibraltar and cappuccino, both with their house blend. They use Hokkaido milk which is a plus. The expresso were well extracted. I believe the barista were very cautious about how the customers treat the coffee. She kept on insisting the coffee shouldn’t add sugar and stuff. It’s somewhat annoying to specialty coffee drinkers. But I guess the HK coffee culture is too Americanize… milk + sugar

Knockbox Coffee is one of those places I really want to give them a better review but as I took account of my total experience there, it really fell short of receiving a 4-star from me. There are many coffee places on both sides in Hong Kong and Knockbox prides themselves as a proper coffee aficionado’s spot. While the no soy alternative in your latte is excusable, two things other things were an issue when I visited: — You order up front even if you’re seated on a table. I usually don’t have problems with this but Knockbox’s walkways are narrow and you’re dealing with liquids, especially hot liquids. Walking back and forth to order is not only a nuisance but can be quite dangerous. — If you’re seated at a table, they stretch from behind the counter and pass you your drinks. Nothing screams spill me more than stretching behind the counter, past the bar, to your table and having a Sistine Chapel’s Michelangelo Creation of Adam portrait moment. I’ve been to coffee shops with similar layouts(Astar Coffee in Taipei is a great example) and none of those two instances were evident. Other than those two issues, their coffee selection is decent and their coffee knowledge is top notch.
