The appearance of this place has nothing to do with the rating of this place. It’s meant to look ragged and run down from the outside since it is a hot spot with the construction workers. It got popular due to quality of their food and they provide clean napkins despite the look of the place.
The service is what you expect, minimal interaction and quick to take your order. Though, they do get some things mixed up due to how busy they are. They would constantly ask if you ordered «X» or «Y».
I orders beef brisket noodles, two BBQ pigeons, iced red bean drink, and a buttered pineapple bun. The two things that shined is the iced red bean drink and the pigeon. It’s quite rare to have the red bean taste in the drink, without being too sandy or watered down. Very traditional. The pigeon was really good In a sense that most places make it suck at it. In the last 10 years, I haven’t had any as good as this place in Toronto or HK. Don’t know what their secret is, but it wasn’t too salty, dry or bland. I didn’t need to dip it in the flavoured salt at all!
Oh this place has a English menu surprisingly!
