Via Agara

The name of this restaurant can be tricky if you either speak really fast or have an Italian accent. One might confuse your desire to go to the Indian restaurant with something entirely unrelated!
I’ve only been to Via Agara the one time, just last night in fact, and I’d undoubtedly give it a five star rating were it not for one thing. The portions are just too small. You know when you leave a place still hungry something is not right, especially when the food eaten was so good! That’s the case here.
Their welcoming manager ushered us into the tiny restaurant and handed us the menu. We enquired about the chicken tikka, he responded with a suitable answer. Chicken tikka, chicken madras curry, rice, garlic naan and some water. As far as Indian food goes that sounds like a complete meal to me. The chicken dishes arrived on small plates, for $ 60 each we expected a little bit more, maybe we were being picky. My anxiety of not eating enough was replaced by the joy of finding delicious food. The garlic naan mixed with a bit of curry sauce was outstanding. The chicken tikka alone was fantastic… if only there was more of it!
The menu isn’t huge offering a basic selection of curries and some meat dishes, which was a source of disappoint as I love a good samosa. The venue allows seating for maybe ten people, I noticed most of its customers ordered takeaway, so I wouldn’t advise going as a group. We’ll be sure to be back again, that’s a certainty, only this time we’ll order another couple of dishes to be on the safe side. Having the choice of spending a little more and having to waddle home sounds like a better option to me.
