A pretty good place for Shanghainese food. Everything tasted as expected and was good. The drunken chicken was as expected and traditional. I liked that it did not taste greasy. The shredded mandarin fish was excellent. Unique style of preparation and it almost didn’t even taste like fish. The baked stuffed crab was excellent. This was quite simple and did not have a lot of added flavour but it was nice and fresh. Shanghai cabbage (bok choy) with bean curd in broth was a clean tasting dish. The braised short ribs were interesting — had a unique spice but just not my favourite. Lastly, we finished the meal with a black sesame crème brûlée topped with peanut ice cream. I would have preferred the dessert to be a bit sweeter but i understand that the less sweet taste is the preference here.

Very good food. It’s much lighter than most Chinese food that I have had, but I liked that. The braised beef rib is one of the best things I have ever eaten; the flavor was amazing and the meat was very tender. Chicken with pine nuts and sesame pockets was also great.
Only thing is that they will charge you for the pickles without asking if you want them. And if you get the tea, be prepared for a mouthful of tea leaves.
Service is efficient, could be more friendly, but the food makes up for it.
