Ying Kee

Ying Kee is known amongst locals as an extremely reputable tea shop. They sell a variety of quality teas in a wide price range. You can come into the shop and walk out with nice teas for as low as 30 HKD a pack. The loose tea leaves will last you at least 30 brews. You can find all sorts… black, green, white, flowers… it’s all there
They also have a collection of tea pots and your traditional tea sets. All the items are reasonably priced compared to some of the higher end tea shops around Hong Kong.
The staff here are so knowledgeable and friendly. They actually seemed excited to help me choose some teas for my family overseas. I can’t tell the difference between an expensive Jasmine and a lower end one, but the people I was buying for certainly can. I trusted the staff fully and they did not let me down. My friends can’t stop raving about the lovely teas every time we catch up over Skype.
Please note, the staff here do not speak English. They are super friendly and will try their hardest figuring out what you want. You won’t have TOO much of an issue because their tea labels have English translations on it. When it comes to their suggestions and opinions on the teas though, you’re out of luck if you don’t speak Cantonese or Mandarin.
