Prague Andy’s Laundromat

A fantastic laundromat within 30 mins walk of the old town centre. Attended by a very helpful lady who ensures you get your washing and drying done efficiently. Cost me 260CZK for a large load (including powder, wash and dry) but it would be less for a normal/​small load or if you have your own powder. They have 3 larger washing machines and larger dryers so you don’t need to split your load if you don’t want to.
I arrived about 11am on a Monday morning and there were free machines but it started to get busy around midday. I suspect first thing in the morning is the best time to come. Hours are 8am to 8pm.
Also they have free WiFi.
Overall, a very pleasant experience and I would highly recommend.

Quite the interesting spot. It’s straightforward and easy, and there are places to sit (as in couches) while waiting for the laundry to finish. There is also wifi which I’m using to write this review right now.
The staff was a little off putting at first when he asked what we wanted and said self service and acted like we just needed to start the machines, when it is actually necessary to tell him what you want and pay first. It got the job done.

Did a much needed load of laundry here while in Prague. Nice facilities, clean and the machines worked great. I highly recommend this place when in Prague!

This is a great place to do some laundry. It is affordable, clean and easy. They speak English there and are very helpful with operating the machines. There is plenty of room to sit and hang out while waiting for laundry to finish. To top it off they offer free WiFi!

Pretty sure this is the only laundry that exists in Prague. I travelled a few metro stops just to use it and found it awesome. Very friendly guy at the counter, easy enough machines to use. Even recommended a nice place to get coffee and a panini while my wash was running!

I’m not quite sure where all of these good reviews are coming from, explaining free tea or coffee while you wait, pleasant employees, and a happy atmosphere. I saw none of this. I walked into Andy’s today after traveling for two months and getting sick of washing my clothes by hand. I went straight up to the counter, said I need to do two loads of laundry. The man at the counter said okay and asked «do you need soap?», which I replied yes and I was given no further instructions on how to use the machines, which buttons to push, etc. so I figured I would just try to do it myself. Then I walked into the machine area and nearly half of the customers were all standing around scratching their heads not knowing what to do or how to work the machines so fellow customers were asking each other questions. Because no one knew that there was a difference between the different washing machines in the main room, some people myself included, accidentally put all of their clothes into the big 10kg machines because no one knew the difference. An older woman, whom I assumed was a regular customer, could see that many people were struggling and helped everyone she came across. At one point the male employee scolded a Russian couple for how they were using a washing machine asking them «well then why did you stop the machine?». To which they replied that they weren’t sure of what else to do. As he exited the room I said to the woman who was trying to help everyone «you’d think he could be a little bit nicer to customers.» And she said «yes he could. He’s like that sometimes with people.» So it wasn’t just a bad day that the employee was having, but rather a bad attitude.
Oh and we all must’ve missed the «free coffee or tea while you wait» promotion because the only beverages we saw were bottles of soda for purchase.
With all of the customer service issues set aside, the place was clean and kept tidy and the machines did work very well. Which I suppose is the reason that you visit a laundromat in the first place.
It’s a shame that the staff weren’t more pleasant or helpful– instead of shaming and rude.

This place was near my hostel. The attendant was very friendly and spoke English. For a tip of 200 crowns — which she tried to insist was too much — she did my laundry for me so I could explore the city. I highly recommend going here but GO EARLY. This place gets crazy busy.

After having to hand wash my clothes in Greece for three weeks it was a relief to find this place in the middle of Prague. Nothing worse then traveling with dirty smelly clothes, or having no clean clothes to wear. They have small or large machines to choose from and also dryers. Rightly 3 – 6 a load but worth every penny. I’ll definitely be back when in Prague again. Check’m out. Trolley 10 drops you off with two blocks from the address.

In the middle of 10 cities in 20 days I was in Prague needing to get laundry done. It’s not my first time in a laundry but maybe my best.
Marketta runs the place perfectly. Somehow she had an internal clock and is also aware of what 20 customers need all at once.
Totally unexpected highlight in a city that is one big unexpected highlight. And the very industrial looking machines did a better job than my home expensive ones.
I don’t think there is a second option to consider for local or traveler laundry in Prague.

Really good and friendly laundry. They have a great waiting room, and you can have a free coffee or tea. Free wifi also avaliable. It is not so cheap as I would expect, but the facilities are pretty good.

Great place to get your laundry done. Prices aren’t expensive, but it isn’t free either, so depending on how much you need to wash and dry you will pay for cycle.

Every trip there is a time when laundry has to be done. Our hotel wanted $ 5 per pair of under wear, so we decided to look for a laundrymat. There aren’t many in Prague. We found Andy’s laundromat, not too bad of a walk from our Old Town hotel. We did all the laundry. The guy who works there was so helpful. Just a decent place to have to do laundry in. Free wi-​fi makes the time go fast.

Place it’s OK… But little overpriced… We paid $ 25.00 for 2 washers and 2 dryers…

If you need to do laundry in Prague, it can be expensive or problematic with closures on days when you’d like to get thighs done, like Sunday. This is a clean laundromat run by a nice guy.
Be forewarned: it cost me 378 koruna (about $ 18) to do 2 small loads of clothes, plus 170 koruna for the cab (each way) — about $ 34 total to do laundry. There are a few machines that are either out of order or that might require multiple cycles, as my dryer did. In this case it was a technical problem and the owner gave me additional tokens as needed.

The laundramat is a self service. However, you still have to pay for a special coin and you are given a machine or a dryer. If you’re not a local, you will be given a slow dryer machine or something. Our dryer was running for 2 hours and still the cloths was still wet, finally we complained and got to change to different one, which worked much faster. Cost was 178 crowns for washer, dryer, and powdered soap. Overall its was ok, took us 3.5 hours to get 5 lbs of laundries done. Should have been less than 1.5 hours if the machines supposed to work the way it should. Some machines are really old and doesn’t work properly. It would have been great if the dryer given worked properly.
Nice to have free wifi and clean bathroom.

After a week of traveling it was time to take a break and do laundry. Thanks to other Unilocal reviews we found Andy’s. Easy to find. Cash only.
You get a coffee or tea while you wait. Free Wi-​Fi. Friendly employee showed us the machines and got us situated.
Also a great spot to chat with other travelers and compare notes.

Traveling around Europe? Getting your laundry done quick and cheap sometimes means you need a laundromat. Prague is fortunate to be one of these places. Hotel wanted $ 8/​shirt to wash. Did a whole big load here for $ 5.

What more do you need?

I have to be a fan. If I want to have clean clothes until I get a washing machine I have to like this place.
But I like it not only for practical reasons. It is neat, the staff is friendly, the prices are a little high, but if you are a tourist and not a regular like me they aren’t too bad, and probably the best reason is it is a mere 15 minute walk from my flat.
I highly suggest this place for your laundry needs.
