Howies

We attened for a works christmas lunch. You normally expect a pre plated luke warm meal from other event of mass attendance. This is not the case beautiful food, great atmosphere, service was swift.
Lamb was falling off the bone superb presentation, devine. I will be visiting here again with the good lady indoors.

Howies Restaurant is on Chapel Street in Aberdeen and is part of a small Scottish chain of restaurants.
It is a popular restaurant and can get busym, so advisable to book in advance.
The restaurant is comfortable and quite big with a nice bar area and some comfy seats when you go in where you can wait for friends. There is also 2 private rooms which are really nice.
The food is Scottish food with a bit of a twist, they say that they use local suppliers and free range eggs etc. which is a good touch.
The prices are mid range (about £10 — £15 for a main) although the great thing is that they do really good deals, 2 courses for about £12 — £13 as an early evening menu and the same at lunchtime. Also make sure to check their website before you go as they often have deals available and vouchers you can print off.
Parking is available on the street outside but you may have to pay and might have to drive around a couple fo times! However, it is not far off Union Street so you can get the bus and enjoy from their extensive wine list!

I grew up in the north of Scotland and quite often on family events we would go through to Aberdeen and pay a visit to Howies. As far as I know it’s a chain and there may be a couple of other restaurants in Scotland. This place is idea for families because the prices are very reasonable and they cater for children. The restaurant itself is quite big and can cater for a lot, they will do smaller portions for children, of you can have a starter for a main meal if you are not to hunger. The service was always prompt and fast and the staffs were always polite and friendly. I can’t tell you about the drink though because I was 16 when I went here last, my friend still me it is still as good as ever though
