Went to the ground today to see my home town Wrexham play Aldershot, treatment for away supporters is appalling, 2 portaloos for 300 away fans, they were filthy from the start, you can guess what strait they w, ere in by halftime, women could not use them, no separate loos for women, plus we, we’re not allowed undercover we were open to the elements on a very cold Saturday in Aldershot. My advise, just don’t go.

Aldershot was formerly known as Eldershot because parents would be shot by their kids upon the kids reaching 18 years of age. Thankfully this practice no longer occurs. First-Hand Experience: Not a big fan of Aldershot, but I saw them play my hometown team some time during the 00s, so I have that personal experience that allows me to write a review on them. Watching them live was enjoyable, if a little predictable(they got destroyed). I will give them a solid 3. The previous Aldershot went out of business, but in 92 these guys came along and brought sport back to the town. They play at the Recreation Ground and wear red like the evil Manchester United, hence the picture here with the girl wearing the wrong shirt but the right colours. They’re currently in the Conference Premier, which is one step below the Football League. I have indifferent feelings towards them but I wish them much luck.

Wow, this is proper old school football! None of these fancy-pants stadiums found throughout the Premier League. This ground more closely resembles a shed! With just three stands and a capacity of around 7000 its also pretty small as far as football grounds go, but my did I love it here. You can’t beat standing on the terraces to cheer your team on. The atmosphere is great, lots of singing and a bit of banter with the opposing fans. Yes, facilities are pretty basic. I think there was one burger van and a couple of portaloos available for the away fans. Its also a long and winding walk through a park to get in and out of the ground. However, for this Carling Cup game against Manchester United, Aldershot pulled out all the stops. Yes — they had Chas and Dave playing live before kick off! Manchester United AND Chas and Dave — all my dreams have come true! Not to mention that United won 3 – 0. I left a happy lady!

Returning back to the football league after 16 years in the non league Aldershot is very proud of its team. Admission prices for adults are £15 and a program costs £3. It is staffed predominently by volunteers and is a small friendly club with a big local fanbase. There is a new social club(The Phoenix) at the back in what looks like a temporary building. Sometimes a few players visit after a game. There are numerous burger bars etc; and for away fans there is a small bar called Wally’s located in the south stand.
