This peaceful setting has the memorial stone of Fanny Adams, who was so brutally murdered in 1867.
The story is quite distressing and details can be viewed on Wikipedia. Her death brought about the Naval saying of Sweet F.A. = Sweet Fanny Adams. although there is another interpretation!
However, it is quite poignant to stand by her stone, and knowing the story, think back to her ordeal!
