This used to be an excellent chippy but seems to have suffered the normal fate of award winners — it has rested on its laurels and now lost it. I was dished up one of the most disgusting meals I had sampled for a long time — I later found out it was probably because I went in early in the evening and got fobbed off with a battered sausage left over from the lunchtime session that had been reheated.
I didn’t go back for about three years then when I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt a few weeks ago I asked for a portion of chips and, without being asked, was charged for and, presumably, given a large portion.
There are plenty more chippys in Andover, and even more coming it seems, so I do not need to ever go back to this one again.
