Went here for a drink last night after a walk in the countryside and it was very lovely and cozy. So much so that this morning we decided to walk back for another drink. It was nice to sit and read the paper while nursing a cider or having a pot of tea. Very nice atmosphere, and the location is lovely!

Last here was 3 years ago when food was good and service fine. Today was a horrid. Took ½ hour and a couple reminders to get a cup of tea sandwiches were worst than Pret a manger. No point to the place except the view. Best to just grab a beer. Don’t try to order food unless you have hours to spare

The Black Rabbit’s location is ideal for a warm and sunny English day. It’s along the river and away from town. It’s about a 20min walk from the town centre but rather do have parking available. Although this is a lovely spot, unfortunately the food was not great. I had the Buffalo Burger which was okay but was disappointing by the small portion of chicken given. It can get pretty busy here but food came out quickly. However I don’t always think that’s a good thing.

Awesome place to sit outside, but food is not great. Mezzo plate is like nothing, salads are covered in dressing, and wings must be from the youngest, skinniest chickens you’ve ever seen(maybe the birds from the roof???). BUT, the location is awesome on a sunny day and the pints are cold. Cleanup service is about mon-existent so be preferred to handle other people’s dirty dishes if you get there after lunch and want a picnic table. But when on a hike along the local pathways, it’s a solid stop and worth the deterrents. Just don’t expect a red carpet or a hidden culinary gem.

A perfect pub setting for a perfect sunny day! I’ve only been once but it really left an impression on me — I’d taken the day off with some friends to spend the day seeing more of East Sussex, and when I got back to work the next day I name-checked this place a few times! For just over £12, I ordered the glazed rump steak which came with skin-on french fries and seasonal coleslaw. It was spectacular, and sitting outside with the sun shining and the Arundel Castle in the background really made this an amazing intro to the area. I would love to go back one day in the evening, perhaps in the winter when there’s a roaring fireplace and get a different perspective on the place.

I was very impressed by this pub, stunning close up view of the River Arun, just a stone’s throw behind you by the outside seating area. The pub itself was a fair size and lots of wooden seating areas decked with a traditional decorated feel to the tables. I will say this pub had one of the most immaculate toilets I have ever used. but just one mark deducted. Some staff here came across as vain, but folks and the atmosphere was very relaxed and the price was not too cheap but not very expensive either, mid table I’d say for value for your pound . Well I will cap off by saying this pub is definitely worth checking out, if your in the area plenty there to keep your eyes occupied with pictures s views for the Castle across the River Arun.

Following mid Sunday afternoon arrival to this bustling establishment with no reservation and a party of 9, we imagined there would be little chance of an inside table however, the staff were wonderful and able to accommodate us immediately. Food was excellent, ambience lovely will definitely visit again.

Used to be great but modernisation hasn’t done it any favours. The food and atmosphere isn’t very good. The staff obviously are not happy in their workcomplaining about wages, long hours and bad managers! All while I was trying to order food and drink!!! ‘Tis true, it is nice sitting out by the river. BUT, that’s all its got. Shame, could be a nice place.

An ideal place to go and sit outside on a hot summers day, and sip a nice cool drink by the river. Watch the swans and boats and take in the beautiful scenery, perfect for families too, as there is a good childrens play area. The pub has a wonderful cosy atmosphere, so is also great for visiting after a walk around Arundel anytime of year. The menu has a lot of dishes on offer to suit most tastes, very highly recommended.

what a beautiful setting right by river. lots of seating available but does get very very busy in summer and sunny days. even in winter take a walk down by river and end up at black rabbit for drinks and food. menu extensive and good food. order at bar with table number and food is served to you. some parking and car park a short walk away. sit by river and watch river life and boats sail by. recommend for great day out

Lovely country pub in an idyllic setting. You can drive there but there is limited parking. Many people enjoy to walk although it is quite a way but a very nice route. Lovely to sit outside by the river and enjoy the scenery while the kids can play in the little play area. Food is really nice, often a bit of a wait but it is worth it.
