How fun! Declan (the guide) is enthusiastic and clearly obsessed with the murderous history London has to offer. A great way to see parts of the city easily missed with all the other tourist attractions. He tells some great grizzly tales and really wants you to imagine yourself in a dark narrow lane, the fog hanging low, gas lamps burning dimly, a shadow and a shiver passing over you… be sure to keep up lest ye become the ripper’s next victim!

Declan McHugh is a former professional actor and a researcher of the darker side of London history. He leads guided 2 hour tours that talk about all kinds of murder and mayhem. The pace is brisk, the mood is fun and light and a bit creepy, and he is funny and interesting. He really knows his stories, and he really knows London. He also takes time to answer questions, and to talk to the folks who are on the tour. Well worth the moderate price of 7 pounds for an adult. I took the 9:45pm tour, and imagine it was vastly better in atmosphere than a tour before dark would be.
Sweeny Todd, Jack the Ripper, other serial killers, graverobbers, public executions and more! WOOHOO!!!
