I ordered from Loon Wah tonight and although this is far from the best Chinese takeaway I’ve ever had it is also nowhere near the worst either. The ¼ crispy duck was a very large portion and very well shredded although there wasnt really enough pancakes for the amount of duck. I also had crispy chicken with chilli, unfortunately this was neither crispy nor with chilli. They were more like little chicken balls in a sweet and sour sauce and I hate sweet and sour, although it wasn’t too sickly and bright orange like some. Unfortunately I was expecting dry fried chicken with dry red chilli(a traditional dish) so I was somewhat let down by the sticky gloop I got. However the pak choi and garlic and singapore noodles were faultless and absolutely delicious. I think all in all I would use them again, luckily I never had any of the other reviewers problems, customer service was good and my food was delivered in its entirety approximately 25−30mins after I ordered it. Good job Loon Wah, I think I will try you again some time. If there is no more sweet and sour in disguise on your menu, and the general standard is more that of the noodles and pak choi than the chicken you could well become my Chinese takeaway of choice. Great little take away! A group of four of us ordered the ‘C2 set menu for Three’ from which we all ate hearty and even went back for a second innings! All dishes were top notch and didn’t leave us feeling that MSG lethargy afterwards. All this for under £35. Beautiful.
