I think that this place offers over priced food, and I also had under cooked chips on the last visit. They have won awards yes, but a long time ago; this is not what it once was. Olivers is much better. Overall the food is acceptable, but falls down on value and occasionally it is below average quality.

Good chippy, this. The quality of the food is high, and the service is pretty quick and friendly. I actually don’t live near the Chineham area but I still make the effort to come out here — it’s worth the journey. It gets busy, of course — a tribute to how nice the place is — but you still seem to get served pretty sharpish. Personally don’t think it’s quite as good as Oliver’s, but close enough!

A good chippy that’s centrally located to the Chineham/​Lychpit area. Always clean and the staff are friendly. On occasion, I do find the chips aren’t quite cooked enough for my liking, but generally it’s all good.
You can eat in here as well as takeaway.
I’m not sure I agree with ‘the best chippy’ comments, I think Oliver’s takes that title, but you do have to drive out to the A30 to get to them. Worth it though, in my opinion.

possibly the best chip shop in the area! very well known and has a high reputation.
sells the same as most fish and chip shops but very tasy and excellent quality of food. I think they have even won awards for being the best!
found in the centre of chineham shopping centre, easy to find and get too and two huge free car parks both very close.

I cant believe no one has mentioned this great place, this is a fabulous Fish & Chip shop /​Restaurant. Located in the Chineham Shopping Centre. In recent years the Trawlerman was voted best in its field. The Fish and Chips are loverly and fresh and i enjoyed a plesent friendly atmosphere when i dined indoors. Staff are nice and friendly as you can imagine this place does get busy and the front of the shop gets a little too stuffy (like sardines in a can) but the food is fantastic.
