Great salad and vegan/vegetarian option that actually had protein! Service was fast, the place was cozy, food was good, and bathrooms were CLEAN. This is probably your best option for this area.

One of the nicest places to eat in Bath. As a party of four, we had not booked, and chose here as random. On entry we were warmly greeted by Maria, and swiftly seated. Maria, our lovely Spanish beauty, talked us through the menu, and having taken our drinks order, left us to peruse and ponder. Our ladies chose the chicken and we men chose the cod… both good choices. Crème brûlée so very tasty, if you like that sort o’ thing… We will be going back, ‘cos it was«just perfick».!

We were at the Roman Bath for a tour and were starving so grabbed the closet restaurant. There’s actually one right inside Roman Bath but looks like it was just afternoon tea. We were way too hungry for little sandwiches. It looks like a bistro from the outside but the menu is more like a pub. Fish and chips, burgers etc. we ordered fish and chips and roasted chicken. Pretty typical quality — nothing to be overly crazy about. Service is decent and food came fairly quickly. The convenience is pretty much it.

Stopped in to grab a bite and escape from the rain outside. We ordered those waffle and it came with ice cream and whip cream and chocolate syrup and it was incredible. We also had cappuccinos which are amazing. If you go to the café you have to have the waffle for dessert. You will not regret it…

We had a nice lunch here after seeing the Roman Baths. Tyler and Randy had the Venison burger and I had hunters chicken which was great. I remember the place was really busy and at times there was a wait. Many came for tea. The location is excellent and the bathroom was clean but really downstairs and threw some small doors and not at all disabled friendly. No Compl about the service or décor.

I ate here as part of the Roman Baths Twilight deal which includes a 3 course meal plus coffee at the Roman Baths Kitchen and entry to the Roman Baths + a 45min guided tour, all for £36 pp. The ticket to the Roman Baths only was € 14 so paid £22 for our meal. I am also a bit confused by some of the previous reviews and actually glad I didn’t read them before booking this deal, because our meal(apart from dessert which I shall get to later) was fantastic and our Spanish waiter was wonderfully attentive and cheerfully switched the coffee out for tea when we asked him if that was possible. I also love it when the eating establishments I go to have free wifi, and this place did :) The twilight deal had three choices for each of the courses and included a good variety of vegetarian choices. For my starter I got the Duck rillettes with Yorkshire pudding and a watercress salad. This was just a beautiful medley of flavours both from an individual component level as well as when I tried various combinations. The Duck rillettes were tender, and succulent and prepared to perfection. The balsamic on the watercress salad was great quality and complimented the sweetness of the Yorkshire pudding. I have no hesitation in recommending this item, and would happily order it again. For my main, I decide to try the Roast Tomato and Somerset Brie tart and this came with gorgeous roast potatoes and another watercress salad. I love cheese and tomato and the tastes here again were a perfect compliment. I polished off every single bite and again, this is something I would totally order again. However if you aren’t a fan of cheese, do not get this because it does have a lot of cheesy goodness! My dining partner got the French onion soup and I tried a bit of his cheesy toast and it was just superb! For his main, my dining partner got the Roast Cod which he polished off really quickly such that I didn’t get to try it but was assured was lip– smackingly good! We had been just blown away by both the previous courses and so was looking forward to the walnut brownie which had been my pick for the dessert. It came out looking absolutely beautiful on the plate, accompanied by fresh cream and ice –cream with a chocolate drizzle but one bite and it was, just meh — it tasted like a garden variety brownie that had come from the kitchen at a chain restaurant like Macaroni Grill and not from the kitchen that had just served us the exquisite items previously. The ice-cream was good but the brownie wasn’t moist enough. I would not order this and instead should have gone for the crème brûlée which I saw quite a few other diners order. It’s still 5 stars tho because of the wonderful main and starter courses. Am very glad was able to eat here as part of the twilight deal as discovered some wonderful local food that I otherwise would have missed out on.

This place works as a quick stopover to grab a bite after you’re done seen the Roman Baths and are famished, but I wouldn’t recommend it for a full meal. The Bath Kitchens are directly opposite and you get a 10% discount with your entrance ticket to the Roman Baths. So the husband got the Smoked Salmon Sandwich and I opted for English tomato, grilled Aubergine and Mozzarella sandwich on a focaccia with pesto dressing — really fancy, I know! This has to be one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. Or maybe I was starving. But no seriously, the bread was delicious and the pesto sauce on my bread was so fragrant and fresh I still remember it. Get it. Service is quick and efficient. Restrooms are clean.

Wasn’t very impressed with this place. We walked in, even though you were meant to be seated by the wait staff, we waited two minutes, no one came so we went and sat down ourselves. No one came to serve us so I went and found a waiter. We eventually found a member of staff, ordered a latte, it came and was fairly average. I then tried to go to the bathroom and it was locked. Eventually we decided to leave. No one came over, we basically could have left without paying. Again I went and found a waiter and paid. Basically couldn’t wait to leave. Don’t bother with this tourist trap, it’s rubbish.

Bad service(although saying it was bad suggests there was at least some form of service — there was not), average coffee. Avoid this tourist trap — glad we didn’t bother trying to eat here.

Roman Bath Kitchens offers a decent place to eat and drink in the centre of Bath handily located by the Abbey and the Baths and Pump Room. The food served is classic British so I opted for a steak sandwich which was cooked to perfection. My only problem was with the slightly slow service considering that it wasn’t busy when we were there considering it was a quiet at the time. But overall I would happily recommend it.
