Stokes

I’m a big fan of greengrocers in general. Having the option of shopping for your fresh fruit and veg from a local retailer is a great alternative to the stuff you get in the big supermarkets. Stokes is no exception — it’s small, but packed full of great quality, fresh produce. As well as the normal bits you’d expect to find, they also have a section of more unusual fruit at the back of the shop. This is the place where I purchased my first ever ugli fruit (it’s a bit like a massive orange) and I’ve been a fan ever since. The one thing I would say about this place when compared to other greengrocers around, is that for certain things it can be a little on the expensive side. Still, it’s a great place to visit if you fancy tryingout something a bit more adventurous.

They certainly are a dying breed but well worth supporting. Good prices and friendly staff.

Great fruit and veg shop. They’re a dying breed nowadays but Stokes have a great selection, sometimes fruit doesn’t last too long but good prices, friendly staff. My favourites are the pomelos and this is one of the only places in Bath that stock them :)
