Before I mention the Restaurant just a brief word about Redbrick Mill itself. Redbrick consists of four floors of furniture, accessories, art, cookware and gifts as well as four cafes. It is a truly fantastic place to while away a wet Sunday afternoon or if you have to find a gift for someone special — there is no ‘tat’ here and all items are from renowned names! Out of the four places to eat, Casbah is my favourite one. Ideal for a quick snack(my kids love the nachos) or a lunch platter for people with a huge appetite or even a cup of tea accompanied by one of a large selection of cakes. Yesterday I had a seafood platter which consisted of king prawns, feta cheese, patchwork mackerel pâté, salmon, black and green olives, some healthy looking green leaves(which I didn’t eat but was told that they were very nice) and two large chunks of rustic bread. More than enough for two people to share. Patchwork pâté is truly amazing and if any of you have ever eaten any of their pates then you’ll know what I mean — it is nothing like supermarket pâté and I refuse to buy any pâté from a supermarket nowadays! Anyway, being a bit of a science geek, I’m not very good at descriptive writing so I’ll include a link below where you’ll see some pictures of the restaurant, and I’ll end by saying that I am a regular visitor to Casbah and have never had a poor experience. Well deserving of its five stars.
