Moo Baa Oinc is a fabulous butchers in Beaumaris. It’s the kind of place you can’t resist popping into even if you have no intentions of purchasing any meat products, and on this occasion our instincts paid off as our visit here resulted in the best meal of our week in Anglesey. The butcher itself sells really high quality produce. They have won awards for their Welsh black beef and Welsh lamb. Chatting to Brian the proprietor was a really pleasure as meat is clearly his passion and he was keen to talk about the best cuts and the best way to prepare certain pieces, my boyfriend was in his element! As well as the butchers, they have a deli/produce store at the back and we came away with a few products. It was Brian who told us about Cennin*, the restaurant upstairs run by his wife on front of house, and Aled Williams, of Great British Menu fame, in the kitchen. Brian told us that they had opened the restaurant with the aim of obtaining Anglesey’s first Micheli Star. Of course, we had to book up and we weren’t disappointed. *See separate review.
