Bit confused, smells like old boxer shorts and I swear I saw a group of vagrants in the corner. Music was ok if you like loud rock. The Karaōke was not as good as in other venues in Bedford but at least they are trying. They had ran out of a lot of stock the last time I went so had a pint.(with little change given from a fiver!) Not for me.

The Hobgoblin is one of the few pubs in Bedford that don’t ram dance music down your throat like a poor man’s nightclub, opting instead for a more indie-rock vibe. The area at the rear is used as a dancefloor when the better DJs are present, but there’s no garden. If you wear black, The Hobgoblin’s for you.

Other than the bear, this is the only real option if you want to move away from cheesey pop and r’n’b music towards more rock & indie along bedford high st. Drinks are a reasonable price for the area and the place fills up at the weekend if you want a lively night out. During mid-week and the daytime its usuallypretty quiet so not ideal for an afternoon drink.

A good alternative bar on the high street. It plays a lot of music from the Indie genre and has a very welcoming atmosphere. This bar is open until 2am and is a good place to go to begin or end the evening.

Great music and drinks, try a TVR to really get your head buzzing. Good place to start the night before moving on to the Rose. A few too many pints have been spilled here and you can get the wiff of it. Can get crowded.

This is a great pub which is really nice to hang out in especially in the summer when the front windows are wide open and you can sit and watch the world go by. The pub mainly plays rock music and often has live bands to go and see. They stock a good variety of drinks and it has a really friendly atmosphere and some very cute bar staff too, if you need a quiet moment you can go and talk upstairs as it has a large floored area near the toilets and it has good games machines too plus sweet machines for those moments when you just need minstrels! The pub can get crowded though and it doesn’t have enough sitting, also there is no beer garden so you have to smoke out on the high street and no drinks can be taken with you.
