It’s been a while from I had last been in the apartment and I think the changes have done little other than create a few extra seat spaces, it was disappointing that a promotion on cocktails finished at nine on a Monday when the place was almost completely empty. Its a great venue with massive windows and a great location. Its a shame the promotions aren’t thought out but still a nice place for a drink.

The apartment has had a makeover which Was overdue. The downstairs was very spacious and the booths are very comfortable. There was a live band which were very good but when they had finished they played the radio and the station was Magic, this I found odd as the music was very slow and I would prefer a little more up beat on a Saturday night out. Not a bad spot as its in the middle of city centre and upstairs has a good view esp at night time.

The new overhaul is a vast improvement. The booths on the ground floor are spacious and comfortable. The colours give an overall decadent feel. I did find it strange that after the live act finished. Heart FM was playing. Slightly strange for a bar to play a radio station. Upstairs is much more up tempo and more open plan. With an attached beer garden which really does make the outside feel like it’s inside.

Really like how they have changed the place up! The back terrace is spot on with its own bar, it’s just not always open which is a bit of a pain. The cocktails are top notch, good knowledgable staff and friendly too. Always a go to spot when in town around 6pm for a few cheeky drinks after work.

I would go into Apartment reasonably regularly as it’s right slap bang in the middle of town, beside the City Hall, and right where my bus would drop me off if I get the bus into town after work, so location wise, it’s a great meeting place. You can choose to sit upstairs or downstairs(I prefer upstairs!) and they also have a restaurant. I’ve not eaten here personally but the menu looks good. They had live music playing when I was there last Friday afternoon. Really enjoyed the music and song choices! One star removed for bar service — very slow! Definitely needed more staff on.

Haven’t been in Apartment for quite a while, certainly not since the refit. Stopped in for a quick drink with my sister before heading on to the VIPBalloonParty, pleased to discover pints were on offer at £3 each but the live music downstairs was so loud that we struggled to hold a conversation. Not sure if it was down to acoustics but the drums & guitar seemed to be playing completely different tempos and we couldn’t wait to get out!

Ok I LOVE the Apartment! The cocktails are amazing and the décor is right up my street. We went on Friday night before a Unilocal event and quickly realised it was ‘Prosecco Friday’ which meant a bottle of prosecco for £15 — ‘say no more and give me a couple of glasses ;)‘ There was a live band on who were really good, I enjoyed the quirky style of their music and would have stayed longer if we didn’t have to go lol My only criticism is how long it takes to get a cocktail, sometimes you can wait for what seems like a lifetime to get one drink but when not too busy you can’t beat it with a big stick :)

Recently renovated the inside now has a lot of exposed brick and original features of the pillars at the front. Upstairs the restaurant has switched sides which makes more sense as now you don’t have to walk through people eating in order to have a drink and diners have a bit of peace and quiet while they dine which is a good idea. The only thing I do miss is the large sofas at the windows and they were a great people watching opportunity, and now they are replaced with high tables and stools which may be the establishments way of not letting people get too comfortable and hog the window all day. Downstairs the new Zak’s bar is a welcome additions which really opens up the place, on Friday night there was a two piece band playing. I was expecting as we were sitting at the first booth we would be deafened by the group however I found this not to be the case which was a pleasant surprise. They also do Prosecco Fridays which a bottle for only £15, which is great. And I was also surprised to find all the booths have not only plugs to charge your phones but USB ports as well Enoch for the tech savvy world we now live in is a bonus.

So started off with a delicious meal great afternoon relaxing on a girls day, staff very friendly and accommodating this was one of my favourite bars in Belfast until today. Ordered cocktails after our meal and as was strawberry daiquiris on the list were sent to the main bar. Gave out order to a girl and watched the bar staff as u do when cocktails are involved. To our disgust watched one of the men preparing drinks first open a sealed bottle with a penknife — grand, until he licked the knife and put it back in his pocket — yuck! He then proceeded to lick 4 fingers on one hand and walking up the bar in opposite direction scratch his butt(inside his trousers). Not bad enough yet? Immediately he proceeded to make a cocktail touching everything with his dirty hands — fruit included and served to an unsuspecting member of the public. Had I seen who was delivered to I would have voiced my disgust loudly to them directly. As it was we Complained to another member of staff and left. Hope it’s sorted asap.

Went to this place last night for a beer during a pub crawl. What has happened to this place, it used to be up market, and done more business before it got its«refurb» The staff couldnt careless, and when people were having a conversation turned the music up that loud, that multiple customers asked for it to be turned down. The bar was dirty and lights didnt work at some tables Wont be back here again!

This used to be regular of mine until we had a nasty experience with the door staff and some bar staff… Will never be back!

The apartment has been around for a long time with happy hour cocktails and decent pub food. It’s a large bar/restaurant on three floors and it’s usually quite busy. They have recently done a huge refurb of the downstairs café into a relaxed singer/songwriter snug called Zak’s. It’s a more casual area with low lighting and seems much warmer. The top seems pretty much the same with extra tables for meals. The cocktails have always been good with regulars like Cosmo, daiquiri & mojitos. The staff are usually v busy but a little patience and you’ll get served.

I visited the apartment for the first time in years on Friday 13th November it has been remodelled since my last visit, I liked it better the old way, the music was so loud I had to shout to be heard, I ordered a couple of cocktails including a whiskey sour and while I was happy with the taste the price was higher than I would normally pay

Lovely cocktails, nicely nestled in the heart of belfast. Now have a nice outdoor area with lovely live music.

The Apartment has been around as long as I have been drinking,(without showing my age) at least 12 years! I have been her for dinners, drinks, brunches and a breakfast scone and coffee on numerous occasions over the years, and it’s always been decent, good food and OK drinks, but it became a bit run down in recent years, the crowd and the quality of cocktails were dropping, but the prices going up. Following a recent revamp and facelift, I have called in a couple of times, one on a date night on Friday and once with a few girl friends on a Saturday afternoon session. They have shuffled the upstairs bars around, given it a lick of paint and included a beer garden out the back, and I have to say it was really nice! If you get a seat near the window it’s nice to while away the day with a good cocktail and some people watching. Me and my bf had a lovely Friday evening doing just that, the bar wasn’t too busy and the service was quick. The cocktails were delicious, particularly the Aviation, one of my go to cocktails most places I go. Saturday afternoon with my friends way a lovely day too, although the bar service took a lot longer, it didn’t seem particularly busy and there was plenty of staff, but the drinks were slow to arrive. We left before the masses arrived on a Saturday night. I would certainly recommend here for a casual drinks, I’ll be back to try the food but it was always consistently good before the revamp so I would expect the same.

Called into the apartment for a wee after drink following a Unilocal event. Have to say I’m a little surprised. Its nice an all, but the new style doesn’t blow me out of the water. I love the rough and ready mix of industrial style and ‘cool’ but if I’m 100% honest there are places in Belfast that do it better. I was always a fan of the old Apartments and I think sometimes when a place gets a refurb it can lose something, I have a fear that’s what has happened here. The staff were friendly(though I got a majorly dud recommendation for one of my drinks from the staff which is why they got a 3 star) and the place ok, but it just seemed to be missing something. I’ll try again in the future and order some food, which might up my stars, but as a wee drinking spot I think it may have slipped a bit. I just feel like there is better in the area where you could chill and relax among more comfortable fluid surroundings. Not a bad spot by any means, just ousted I think by some of the competition nearby.

The new look Apartment just seems to be missing something. Visited on a quiet Tuesday night and can’t fault the service or the quality of the drinks plus I hear the food is pretty good. It just feels a bit sterile and lacking in character. Even with the old brick and cast iron beams there’s too many bare smooth walls and ceilings making it feel a bit like a standard hotel bar. The lighting is a bit bright too. There are so many more characterful places to go in Belfast now that have a good buzz even on the quieter nights.

It is a rarity that I get up to Belfast for anything other than work. To celebrate a Saturday morning off work and flexing the old credit card we decided to check out apartment. I have read reviews on this place which seemed to be a mixed bag but wanted to give it a go. Lovely setting opposite my favourite building Belfast City Hall. The opening seems a little unfinished so I hope they will do something with that area. The bar looks lovely although it is slightly too dark unless you sit by the large windows. A few extra light bulbs wouldn’t go amiss! I treated myself to a cocktail called the country orchard. One word … YUM! Perfectly refreshing after a hard morning shopping! Food was very nicely presented and a good price! Comfortable surroundings and very friendly staff! This is a good lunch time spot and I will be back.

The Apartment has had a makeover! It certainly needed it as it was beginning to look tired. It now feels fresh again with a beautiful interior, new bars and an outside seated area. I visited for dinner last night and was delighted to see a couple of veggie options on the menu. Unfortunately not a dedicated vegetarian menu, but certainly better than what’s offered by some restaurants — at least there was a bit of choice with Apartment. I opted for pasta in an olive, tomato and veg sauce which was delicious. My dining companions had noodles and seafood risotto. We enjoyed a couple of glasses of good Pinot Grigio and found the service lovely and friendly. I’m definitely planning a return soon to try out the cocktail menu. I’m just sad to see that all the comfy sofa seating beside the large windows overlooking City Hall have gone; replaced by standard tables and chairs. It’s still a good people watching spot though.

As Jules mentioned the best thing about The Apartment is it’s proximity and views of Belfast City Hall especially by night when the City Hall as it’s light shown on. I dropped in on Saturday night for a quick cocktail before home time, every other time I’ve been in it has been rammed but I was pleasantly surprised when I could navigate my way to the bar without dodging daiquiris. The guys who work in the Apartment are perfectionists, it took them a good 5 minutes to make me two drinks — but to be honest I don’t mind waiting when the drinks taste so good. At £6 a cocktail it’s pretty expensive in comparison to other city establishments and you could probably find yourself a cocktail deal elsewhere. Overall though I like the Apartment, it’s open and spacious and if you get seated on the large leather sofas looking out at the city you might find it hard to leave.
