Crusts is a small takeaway sandwich shop very close to where we live and is handy to nip round to to get a tasty lunch. Various types of bread are available and lots of fillings, so you can choose whatever you want. The owner regularly makes up specials, and his own homemade recipes such as homemade coleslaw. He is a very friendly guy who will chat away to you. The sandwiches are very filling, and very tasty too. The only drawback is that he only opens during the week, not weekends, so unless I’ve a day off work I generally don’t get to visit.

Excellent service, great sandwiches and very cost effective. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough, incomparibly better than competitors such as doorsteps and subway.

Crusts is a sandwich shop at the very bottom of Tates Avenue, just before the Boucher Road. When I was still a young student, plying my educational trade in St Mary’s University(a whopping 3 months ago) I used to walk by the this place on my way. Occasionally I’d call in to grab a sandwich as the foot at uni was never up to scratch. The place is absolutely tiny and I’m glad I’ve never been there when/if there’s ever a queue as claustrophobia would become a vice of mine very quickly. The sandwiches are sizeable, almost disproportionate with the inside of the shop. The taste very nice indeed and aren’t to expensive at all. Nothing to write home about but better than the uni canteen!
