I used to frequent this Dunnes Stores a few years ago when I lived nearby. I always liked it, so thought I’d pop in again this evening to see how it is nowadays. Towards the front of the store there’s an area full of womenswear, menswear and kids clothing. You’ll also find a range of household items such as bed linen, pillows, kitchen utensils, cushions and curtains etc. All of which are perfectly fine. I have purchased clothes occasionally in Dunnes over the years and have found them good enough quality. However, I never really visited this particular Dunnes for anything other than the grocery section, which is currently located toward the back of the store. I admit I also forgot just what a great selection of British and Irish foods are stocked here! There’s a range of fresh fruit, vegetables and Mash Direct items — which I love. All the supermarket staples are here too — every food you could want. What makes it a 5 star supermarket for me is the great range of vegetarian options. There’s a large choice of Quorn, Linda McCartney and Dunnes own brand veggie food. This combined with their broad selection of Alpro soya yogurts, milks and desserts make it the one of the best places around South Belfast at present to obtain vegetarian and dairy free food. Furthermore, a great bread and cheese range, well laid out interior which is spacious and easy to navigate and lovely staff mean I’ll now be regularly visiting to do my weekly grocery shop. I also noticed some seriously great prices and impressive offers. I’m so glad I rediscovered this place!
