Café Krem in the Peter Froggett Centre(PFC) at Queen’s University Belfast serve the best selection of food on campus. Plus staff are helpful, chatty and delightful to deal with. Krem sandwiches are utterly delicious and their range of croissants, pastries, scones, flapjacks and biscuits are irresistible. There’s also couscous, salads, pastas, savoury pastries, chocolate bars, crisps and popcorn on offer. Unfortunately I think the standard of the coffee varies quite a lot, ranging from average to poor on occasion. I’m not quite sure why this is. Maybe it has to do with varying quality in coffee bean batches or coffee made in different ways by individual baristas. However, if I want a really delicious ploughman sandwich, almond croissant, fruit flapjack or chocolate chip shortbread biscuit — I’ll head straight to Krem before going anywhere else at Queen’s.
