Here we have one of those amazing fast food places that have an absolutely massive selection of take-out goodies… I mean, pizza, kebabs, burgers, chips AND Indian? It’s definitely a one stop shop for the late night revellers in search of belly filler. I actually prefer the kebabs as the portions are good and I find them a bit fresher than the other fried options. As it’s in a busy area it can get pretty packed and if you’re not in the mood for random drunken conversations then I suggest going somewhere more sedate. The good natured staff dudes have the patience of saints as the constant carnage must get a bit wearing after a while. Pros: Lots of selection, central, opens late. Cons: Can be busy with lots of drunken people milling about.

As far as the drunken eateries of Belfast go, this is definitely one of the better one around the area. The shop has a good amount of in store eating areas so it will provide many a good night’s shelter when university parting starts again in September! The staff are indeed actual Turkish natives and not just some local people like some takeaways you encounter, and attempt to try and make the food here flavoursome enough, as far as late night grease goes. I once had a kebab and chip out of here after one too many lemonades at the union and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it went down easy and did not repeat on me the next day! The shop’s name also reminds me of my holiday to Marmaris last year which was fantastic, the thought makes me want to scuba dive so bad! I have to sign off by showing my one gripe about this place: it replaced the Burger Bar, which was the best late night food in the area! I would actually have willingly ate it sober, which is a bold statement indeed! Not that I did mind you, which may hint why it no longer exists…

This is one of Belfast’s ever growing range of kebab shops, many which have sprung up along the so called ‘Golden Mile’. The epi-centre for takeaways in the city centre. The standard of food is reasonably high for this kind of late night fast food drop in. I’ve been here on a couple of occasions after a little spot of light refreshment at the local watering hole. The steak kebab I had on one eventful evening was quite tasty, good combination of half decent meat and accompanying salad. The take-away is Turkish owned and run with friendly staff and a pretty speedy delivery service. One advantage is also the fact that they are open long into the night, usually until 5am. Generally packed with the drunken riff raff of Belfast’s elite business generally seems to pick up when the bars close. It’s certainly the place to have a cheeky treat after a few too many at one of the local pubs.

Marmaris has stopped doing deliveries. This is devastating to my late night hunger pangs, but probably the best thing for my no heart attacks until 80 plan. So when I go, I can feel ok about ordering the most disastrous thing on the menu(ladies and gentlemen; the curry chip with cheese!) as its now, technically, in my very bias opinion, a rare treat. Marmaris is a Turkish Kebab house, but also accommodates most products a bog standard chip shop would do. Everything is always cooked perfectly and tastes very nice as a snack after a night out. It’s not a place to take a girl(although, I will shake your hand if you do), but it is the place to grab a bite with the guys after a night out.
